Cindy McCain - Drug Addict. The hypocrisy of the McCain's.
http://www.commondreams.org/views/021400-102.htm

<snip>Mrs. McCain was the mother of four children at the time she admits to using drugs--between 1989 and 1992. Her children were born in 1984, 1986, 1988 and 1991. In other words, Cindy McCain was using drugs while raising small children, one of whom she adopted while she was an addict. In most states, family services will remove children from a woman who is known to be an active drug addict, and she would certainly not be allowed to adopt a child while addicted.

<snip>John McCain is a hawk in the drug war. He advocates stricter drug laws, penalties and enforcement against drug sellers. He has had nothing to say about redressing our punitive approach toward drug users. Of course, McCain also supports family values. Yet if John and Cindy McCain were not well-off and influential, they might not have a family at all. McCain's lack of concern for street drug users contrasts sharply with the support and understanding his wife received. It's the old American double standard. For "straight-shooter" McCain, charity begins at home--and ends there.

Well what do ya know... pffft If I were Obama I would attack the hell out McCain over this.

1. There was another post about this yesterday
I just can't find it here.

I knew something was wrong with her --

Wasn't her abuse during the time that he was with the young blonde?

2. It's not just that she was a drug user.
She stole prescription pads and Forged the names of the doctors. That in itself is a felony. She was never charged. You or I would have gone to prison.

4. Jeb Bush's daughter
Noelle was a drug addict, too, and she got off scot free......don't forget that. And, his wife did not pay tax on imported clothes, either. Lest we forget, just in case.....

The First Noel--A new Christmas song sung to an old melody

The Bush named Noelle
Was no angel, they say.
It's for certain the daughter of Jeb got away
With wielding influence, getting pills to help sleep
Got her Xanax illegally, for hers to keep.

Noelle, Noelle...
Noelle, Noelle...
Niece of the king of our oil cartel.

She was locked up, then we saw
She was niece of the czar.
Daddy Jeb was displeased that the press got this far.
Oh, to have such clout by birth,
Wielded as a birth right.
To be coddled and shielded by shills for the Right.

Noelle, Noelle...
Noelle, Noelle...
Niece of the king of our oil cartel.

6. I did a story for my paper on Cindy's drug addiction and I
remember feeling kinda sorry for her. At the time, John was deep into Arizona politics and seemed to be neglecting her and didn't seem to notice or care what she had gotten herself into. That was the beginning of my intense dislike for the man.

go to prison.

Having been addicted to lots of illegal AND legal drugs in my life, I understand how addiction can turn you into someone you really aren't. But what bothered me about a story I read of her ordeal, she basically let some doctor get screwed or something like that. I'm not sure if that happened before or after she got straight, but either way, she should have done something to rectify the wrong.

8. Forgery is a felony and Cindy was never charged.
I truly feel for people with addictions and can understand the desperate acts it can lead to. But after stealing drugs from her children's charity, Cindy got a sweetheart deal with federal prosecutors. And she also used her GOP connections to destroy the whistleblower's life and career.

10. I was never charged either.

It may have been because I was stealing the scripts from my dad (doctor) and by the time they came knocking at my door, I was working on getting straight. They were actually very understanding and supportive. They were Feds of some kind. I'm not discounting the possibility that because my dad was a surgeon of some renown, I may have been given special treatment, too -- although no deals were done by any means.

Your reference to her screwing the whistleblower was what I was referring to. That's inexcusable.

That tells me that she isn't really taking responsibility. Like Rush always loves to point out that he became addicted to drugs that were PRESCRIBED for him -- it's THEIR fault, not mine. Once she got clean she should have done whatever it took to restore the whistleblower's job, reputation, whatever. That she didn't leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Thanks for the link -- I'll go check it out.

EDIT -- Wow - what a story. I wonder if it's the same one I read long ago. Once I was straight, I NEVER would have let somebody else take the fall for me. And I wouldn't have stood by and let someone be fired just to shut him up.

Although she and I have SOME similarities, I see we differ vastly on our views of what's right and what's wrong.

Thanks again.
