FL Senator Bill Nelson vouches for McCain's integrity
Nelson vouches for McCain's integrity

By Times staff writer
Published February 23, 2008

Republican Sen. John McCain's integrity was defended Friday - by Florida's Democratic U.S. senator. Sen. Bill Nelson, speaking to the Suncoast Tiger Bay Club, endorsed McCain as a man of integrity. Then, Nelson also endorsed the Democratic contenders, Sens. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. "All three of them are people of great integrity," Nelson said, responding to a question from St. Petersburg Times Chairman, CEO and Editor Paul Tash about reports that McCain did favors for a female lobbyist. "Any one of the three would make a good president."

Bill, it's past time for you either to retire or officially join the republican party.

VP Nelson? The Florida Senator Says He Would Consider Being Vice President

DELAND, FL (AP) -- Florida Senator Bill Nelson says he would consider the Number 2 job in Washington.

The two-term Democratic lawmaker is traveling the state while the Senate is on a short recess. He fielded questions from about 65 people in DeLand yesterday, including one about whether he would consider being a vice presidential candidate.

12. Why am I not surprised by this???
Nelson even voted for immunity for the telecoms. After his vote I called him and also e-mailed him. I told him he was the Joe Lieberman of Florida. I have no representation in FL with Nelson, Martinez (R) and Stearns (R).

14. Nelson also stood with the Repubs on the breaking the Alito
filibuster. He gets a call from me for enabling this far RW'er with every 5-4 vote reminding him that he is responsible.

15. Send him back up in the shuttle on another docket trip and leave him at the space station..
Gotta get him away from Washington. The guy is so close to being a Rockefeller Republican it isnt funny. Florida's Democratic Senators have always been overly center right(Lawton Chiles and Bob Graham). I voted for him ahead of Katherine Harris but damn, he needs to get his head outta his ass. I read The Reagan Diaries and Nelson spent a plane trip kissing his ass when Nelson was a congressman, only to do an about face and bash Reagan to the media (Too scared to bash Raygun in person??). This guy is two-faced and an opportuniist.

21. I'm so sick of this.
Does anyone know of any instances of repugnantcans coming to the aid of any democrats, of any repugnantcans stating before a camera that 'Senator/Congressman Such n Such' is an outstanding American and I vouch for his integrity? Why are democrats always sucking up to these reprobates?
