Poll question: Some Republicans are voting BLUE this year....call them what you may. but they are voting blue
in the primaries and a few will also vote Blue in the general....

Many Pubs are fed up with what has happened under the Bush Guy....he has made it Bad to be a Pub. almost embarrassing.

I guess the strong coffee and super Visine has worked....they are slowly abandoning the GOP

What percent will convert to BLUE can we arrive at????

My guess is 5% will consider themselves as XPubs....Bush has blown it for the GOP.

Support of Faith Based Catholic groups/Pope.

Support for Isreal's aggression policies.

Abortion hasn't even been an issue.

Torture was a shocking policy to them.

Negating the Constitution and Bill of Rights not acceptable.

The huge national debt.

Amnesty.

Loss of their jobs and companies to off shore.

They want our troops back home protecting our borders.

My guess is about 5%. Why? Democratic candidates aren't much different than McCain policies.

7. I suspect far more would rather not vote or vote 3rd-party than vote "blue"
2% crossover, maybe. The Democratic candidate will still have to earn this win the hard way.

9. I think a lot of people identify with a candidate and not a party
It's just the media and polls that feel the need to divide people into red and blue.

For local offices, I think many who voted for Bush will vote Republican, but for the President, they will vote Democratic.

I also think you will get a lot of people who never voted before, add to that the fact that corporations are giving more to Democrats this cycle in anticipation of a presidential victory, to me, it all points to a Democratic landslide.

If you are a Republican, please do not vote in the Democrat primary in order to attempt to influence their choice of Presidential nominee. The Democratic primary is obviously for Democrats. Do you really want to explain to your fellow Republicans why your voter registration card will be stamped “Democrat Primary?” As a sometime election judge, I would like to also remind you that the identifying stamp – branding you as a member of the party of Hillary Clinton, Ted (Life Guard) Kennedy and Michael (the Tank) Dukakis – will be in brightly colored ink. But go ahead if you must; your neighbors’ heckling will breed character. Hanging “Chads” and Florida aside, engage in a little fair play here.

Let the Democrat Party’s members vote their conscience in “their” primary. American lefties have not had the opportunity to have such a good time since FDR’s administration referred to Stalin as “Uncle Joe.” Don’t spoil their party, yet. While I hear Republicans saying they wish to vote in the other party’s primary to disrupt the candidacy of one or another part of the “Hilbama” hydra, the Democratic primary is truly none of “our” business. Yes, Texas does have an “open” primary system, and it follows that if you are really in accord with the views of, say, Barak Hussein Obama, you may certainly cross over to the Democrat primary and vote for the junior senator from Illinois. I submit it is only ethical to do that if you really believe in the candidacy of Barak Hussein Obama, or Hillary Rodham Clinton.

12. Thank you...very much appreciated....The Ex-Republican Factor
might seem small...but it is a factor driving the Pub Masters nuts....

unless they plan to steal it for the 3rd time...or worse, suspend elections due to some crappy excuse.

16. There should be no cross vote for either party
You register for a party you get to pick the candidate and agenda for the election...otherwise no.

If you get to vote regardless of your party, voters may pick a candidate who can't win or has an agenda close to theirs...but not wanted by the majority of the real party members.

11. There are a lot of Republican defectors.
I voted 15%+. My dad, though registered as an independent, has been a "fiscal conservative" for as long as I've lived, and he's turned yellow dog - he thinks, as we do, that Bush is a brain-damaged, dry-drunk psychopath, and that the GOP desperately needs a timeout.

There are a lot of disgruntled Republicans or ex-Republicans, and we have a historic opportunity to bring at least a few of them under our wing. I hope that we'll recognize this - they're the ones who'll help us form the new Democratic majority that will lead this country for the next few decades (or longer, I hope.)
