I just watched an old Linda Ellerbee special on Nick

It was about black history month, and it was very good. The show listed a lot of cool African-Americans that did many great things. I got kind of teary-eyed watching it.

Then, somebody told about a slave that had himself sealed in a wooden box, and mailed from Virginia to freedom!

I think that made me laugh and cry at the same time.

1. I miss Linda! She used to be on NBC's Today Show (I think).

She did some fine work, then got sidelined due to alcoholism and then breast cancer. I haven't seen her in a long time...

2. Years ago she had a late night news show on NBC called 'Overnight'

Many good stories and lots of laughs for the nite owls.

She remains one of my favorite tee vee journalists.
