why does he insist on talking to audiences like they're a bunch of kindergartners? What a condescending POS he is.

...of a kindergarten teacher, "Ok friends! Now, it's time for snack!"

He uses it so often. McCain needs to come up with something new.

18. maybe a little
but if we become too bitter we will just do the same thing to the republicans that they have been doing to us during the Bush term. I think we all know that if we do it back to them, they will just come back stronger the next time they are in power.

We need less partisanship, not more. More along the lines of "Hate the sin not the sinner." I'm sure that McCain is probably a nice guy if you give him a chance. I just happen to disagree with his more recent pro-bush stance. Then again he had to appeal to his base to get as far as he did.

21. Sorry hendo, but I'm giving no quarter..
I will not back off this time, I'm not giving anybody with an (R) next to their name "a chance". They had their chance and the result was they screwed our country and the world beyond repair. I will not look for any "niceness" in a man who aligns himself with torturers and war criminals.

28. I can't change how I feel...
I'm bitter and I hate the republican party and their proxies for what they've done to this country. Perhaps if they can prove a little more conciliatory in the next few years that will change, but that's where I stand right now.

33. Can't be 'friends' with republicans. It doesn't work. Period.
And it doesn't work because THEY don't want it too. From their Leaders to the base, they don't want compromise/bi-partisanship. It's all their way or nothing.

38. I have a few republican friends
So long as we aren't talking politics we get along just fine. Heck even we do talk politics we are more likely than not able to have a civil conversation.

It is when we hate that the conversation becomes impossible to have, and if we believe that they have no interest in bi-partisan measures we will never come to them with any.

It is self-defeating.

It's a pretty standard form of address.

Was he condescending through the rest of the speech? That would be a good reason to complain.

Bahahahahahahahahahah.

It reminds one of Bush talking to that audience of the super wealthy and telling them that they were his base.

All this clowns pander to the lowest elements they can get votes from while ignoring the needs of those very same people and devoting their legislative attention to serving their moneyed masters.

You may be talking about our next President. Jeezus H. Keey-rist but this country is DUMB!

McCain would beat Obama and Clinton, LAT/Bloomberg poll says

Source: Los Angeles Times

Overall, McCain would beat Clinton 46% to 40% and Obama 44% to 42%. His lead over Obama is within the poll's three-point margin of error.

It's not very smart in terms of the general election to turn this coming race into a contest about age. Calling your opponent a "decayed old man" is not the way to get older people to vote for your candidate. You shouldn't forget that "older" people vote in much larger numbers than younger people.
