Weather Channel Founder Wants to Sue Al Gore
4 hours 46 min ago by LibertySugar 106,701 Views - 140 comments

John Coleman wants to sue Al Gore for fraud. Coleman, who founded the Weather Channel in 1982, thinks taking legal action against Al Gore would be a great "vehicle to finally put some light on the fraud of global warming." Coleman rejects the notion that people must take drastic actions to reduce their energy use.

Speaking at the 2008 International Conference on Climate Change on Monday, Coleman sharply chastised those who further global warming alarmism. Coleman believes that the station he founded has been captured by alarmists, such as the Weather Channel’s Heidi Cullen, who has advocated revoking the license of meteorologists that believe global warming can be explained by cyclical weather patterns and not human activity.

The majority of the scientific community seems to agree that humans are contributing to climate change. Do you think there's any merit to raising concerns about global alarmism? Would a lawsuit against Al Gore help the public determine fact from fiction?
...................................................................................................................................................................

So once again we see in action the "Skeptic" idea that if they can just destroy Al Gore then Climate Change will essentially vanish as an issue.

1. Analysis- John Coleman has too much money
Al Gore would use that money better, ergo-

Coleman v. Gore should proceed apace.

2. Tell him to sue Bush for lying the US into war
Global Warming is real. Bush lied and people died.

3. As a "skeptic", I have to say that most "skeptics",
(and by "skeptic" I mean those who don't accept any claim without examining it logically and scientifically) are firmly in Al Gore's corner.

9. You bring up a point that really bothers me
The so-called GW skeptics aren't skeptics. They are naysayers who are rejecting verifiable scientific evidence.

4. He'll be laughed out of the courts
Because Gore's position is based upon sound international scientific facts and by reputable scientists, that is those not on the payroll of the oil companies.

5. Then he should do it.
I see a lot of big talk, but very little action. Step up, big man, and prove that you're not just talk. Sue Al Gore and suffer the humiliation when you're laughed out of court.

8. I think he should sue
It'll be funny as hell when Gore walks in with thousands of peer-reviewed scientific papers to back him...and Coleman submits a few dozen WSJ op-eds and a couple of books by economists.

'Ware the counter-suit, Mr. Coleman! :)

18. You made me think of something interesting.
Why doesn't HE sue? Why does it have to be someone else? If he's so certain it should happen, he must be certain he could win, and if he were the guy who "destroyed Al Gore" he'd be a hero to... well, some think tank people and op-ed writers.

Or maybe he just doesn't want to risk losing, and hopes someone else will put their neck on the line and take the heat when the case is either tossed out or they lose directly.

15. Before that he was in Omaha. He used to do things like stand on his
head in a barrel while doing the weather. He's a joke, and it sounds like he's getting senile.

17. Yep...Got Shitcanned Out Of The Market Twice...
In the 70's he was on Channel 7, then after his Weather Channel fiasco he tried a comeback at Channel 5 and got canned from there as well. Those who know the guy have always said what a pompus ass he is and that's probably why he's doing his weather forecasting in his basement these days.

I'd kinda like to see Boonies Coleman push a suit...just to drain his money and give him the publicity he wasn't expecting.
