Right-Wing Radio Host: Teachers Unions Are ‘Much More Dangerous’ Than Al Qaeda
Last night on Fox News’s Hannity and Colmes, right-wing radio host Neal Boortz claimed that teachers unions are “destroying a generation” and are “much more dangerous than al Qaeda.” He stated, “Look, Al Qaeda, they could bring in a nuke into this country and kill 100,000 people with a well-placed nuke somewhere. Ok. We would recover from that. It would be a terrible tragedy, but the teachers unions in this country can destroy a generation.” Sean Hannity agreed, noting, “They are ruining our school system.”

What a couple of fools. Hannity and Boortz that is. I have no opinion of milquetoast(Colmes).

I imagine they're like Republican African-Americans, homosexuals, and union members. Very few and far between.

and the union is mainly for our protection against sue happy parents cause little johnny didn't learn cause he didn't give a shit

seriously Today one of the new teachers asked how do we teach "give a shit"

I thought that pretty well summed up our feelings at the end of the day.

7th grade is the HARDEST grade to teach

5. I have always wanted to teach
Edited on Mon Feb-26-07 10:16 PM by smtpgirl
but with my personality & demeanor, I would be most suited for high school or college.

I commend you, you have a lot of patience with teaching junior high school kids. Are you a saint?

a change.

I thought the 7th graders would absolutely love me and what I do...

boy I was taken down a peg or two...

I would take apathy and no homework any day over

"he's touching me...they took my pencil...and the constant talking ect...

13. That's why I would be more suitable for High school
or College kids, at least most of them have some manners.

Most kids, I hate to say are spoiled brats, and I can't contend with that.

Me being a late baby boomer, born 1960, there are things that these kids can do.

Too much helicoptering by parents. I have done things at 7 years old that many kids now, shutter to think, are never allowed to do.

8. If they paid teachers more, there would be no problem
Edited on Mon Feb-26-07 10:17 PM by Hippo_Tron
Republicans always complain about how bad teachers get tenure and then can't be fired because they are bad teachers. Well if they'd pay teachers more, schools wouldn't be hiring bad teachers in the first place.

9. Anyone want to hazard a guess on Boortz's HS GPA?
And his detention record? I have a feeling some little bully-boy is getting revenge for every time he peed his pants in class.

16. All part of the master plan
Edited on Tue Feb-27-07 12:24 AM by RummyTheDummy
Destroy public schools, eliminate them, and you have entire generations of a "slave class" who have no opportunity in life to better themselves and will thus have to serve them in whatever capacity they deem fit. Washing their cars, fighting their wars, cleaning their houses etc. Only the upper middle class, preferably white, elites would be able to afford to educate their children which is exactly what they want.
