4. This doesn't look acceptable....

And yes, the lemmings would agree to just about anything in order to feel safe. The best thing many people can hope to be safe from is themselves, please excuse the grammaticals.

7. They think it's OK because Americans are doing it
and that everybody they are doing it to are trying to kill them.

8. If you mean a poll that anyone can vote on, on the CNN website
then it's meaningless - self-selected polls are completely invalid.

11. Well . . .
. . . wait till reports come in (hopefully this won't happen) of US soldiers (or civilians) who get water-boarded. Especially if they survive to tell their story. Then the outrage in the government and the press will pretty dramatic.

12. Most of the probably don't even know what water boarding is
I didn't really know prior to it being exposed that our government used it. But if asked if I thought torture was OK, I would never agree that it was OK.

13. The question should be; Is waterboarding acceptable ...
...for all countries to perform when they see fit? The Dems have yet to make that the question though. So the framing of the question has been: Is it acceptable to waterboard known terrorists when American lives are at stake? The question is asked the way the GOP would have it asked, not the way it actually applies to the real world.

14. I think it's laughable that one single form of torture has been singled out
while prying off nails and beatings are still going on. And don't think they aren't. At least waterboarding doesn't leave any permanent physical damage, not that I'm defending it.

15. average Americans
The average American probably equates waterboarding with bobbing for apples or getting dunked.

Or else 44% of us are monsters!

17. I'm guessing the think its OK as long as it never happens to our soldiers
What's good for the goose.

Doesn't anyone want this country to be an example, and set a standard for the world.
