3. And some liberals are predicting water shortages
Hmph. This story completely disproves that prediction.

6. There's a difference between sea water and fresh water
Having sea water blown at you hardly solves a shortage of fresh water.

7. I didn't realize I needed the sarcasm indicator
I thought my post was a sufficiently overdone parody of denials of global warming based on the occasional cold snap.

8. Heh - sorry, my sarcasm detector was obviously broken
sometimes (especially after a while reading things in GDP) I get to the point where nothing seems 'overdone' any more - there's always someone on DU who seems to mean something seriously, however wrong or outrageous it appears.

5. Well, it doesn't seem that bad, really
More or less "worst storm this winter, but no worse than last year, or the year before, etc.". The only complete airport closure appears to have been:

Winds of more than 50mph caused all ground operations at Bristol International Airport to be suspended between 0400 and 0600 GMT, which led to delays when the first flights took to the air later in the morning.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7287516.stm

and closing a regional airport at that time of day isn't that big a deal.
