Why the double standard with Cheney and Spitzer? Other than party, what is the difference?

I continue to be amazed that Boobus Americanus continue to believe that Dems are the party of sex scandals, but the GOP are all paragons of virtue.

When Darth Vader himself finds his phone number on the list of the D.C. Madam's customers, the MSM censors the story:

Consider this: WMR is now reporting specifically who at ABC News' 20/20 became fully aware of not only Cheney's use of the escort service, but dozens more "high profile" names - culled from the phone records only since 2002 (the escort services full records go back to 1994). ABC's crack team was reportedly gagged by their bosses after concerned calls from the White House. This would be amazing if true, yet no White House denial has been forthcoming as of this writing...

When, however, we have a Dem governor, who is otherwise an exemplary governor, the MSM has a field day.

I am not condoning those patronizing "escort services", but the rules need to be the same for all politicians, Dems and Repukes alike.

IF SPITZER HAS TO RESIGN, THAN SO DOES CHENEY!!!!!

I suspect that there is much more going on in our politics that is hidden from us. I particularly suspect that there is a good deal of sexual blackmail occurring in the political world. Those who step out of line get their careers ended, but those who play ball with BushCo are guaranteed secrecy.

Such is life in our American Empire.

6. When is the payback for Cheney calling the D.C. madam?
The evangelicals will turn on him if this ever comes out.

Why aren't Dems pushing to undermine the Repukes RW base?

It is all they have left now..other than the mega-corps.

:eyes:

The RW undermined their own base.

His name being on the DC Madam's list is well known.
I'm sure the evangelicals are well aware of it.

12. It is only known by those who surf the web really.
The over 50 crowd that gets its news from the MSM, still doesn't know.

2. One pundint yesterday said that if we all knew what was going on
in the 'untold' private lives of our elected officials, there wouldn't be anybody left to serve!

They'd all be stepping down to spend more time with their families.

4. Prostitution isn't protected by privacy considerations, it is illegal and criminal.
We aren't talking about just marital problems here.

People go to jail for prostitution.

If people don't like those laws, then they can change them, but we can't have different standards for Dems than for Repukes.

11. It may still illegal to eat ice cream on Sunday in some states too. Who has been prosecuted lately?
Since no fault divorce became common, I don't think anyone has been prosecuted for adultery.

You forgot to mention that prostitution is legal in some counties in Nevada.

Maybe Spitzer was planning a trip to Vegas?
