Why do they keep saying "prostitution ring"?
The guy hired a hooker. Big deal, it happens all the time.

But the news headlines say "Spitzer linked to prostitution ring".

This headline implies that he was somehow involved in running a prostitution ring. I see nothing in the news stories that bears this out. This is attack by innuendo in its ugliest form.

I see dirty Rovian fingerprints all over this, and as usual, the corporate media sheep play right along with it.

This leads to the question: Are they planning to take down Democratic governors, one after another?

1. From what I've heard, it was a multi-city, even a multi-national
outfit. I guess that's what they mean.

And I'm sorry, it seems to me that the Democratic governors here took themselves down.

2. But hiring a prostiutute
is completely different from being involved in a prostitution ring. It's like saying if I go to the supermarket to buy a loaf of bread, that I'm running the supermarket.

3. I agree it was totally a hit.
Nevertheless -- Eliot, come on!!!!

You have to be SQUEAKY CLEAN to be a Democratic politician in this climate! Duh!! The Republicans have fricking WIRETAPPING at their disposal. They will take down everyone they can. And someone like Spitzer, who made his name pissing off the most corrupt people of all, is totally in the gunsights... he doesn't have the freedom to get so much as a parking ticket.

It's not fair, but it's true.

Attorney Generals. Bush is at war with his own country. That should be very clear.

Those Democrats who voted with Bush to remove our rights and freedoms are going to get caught in their own web.

7. That irritates me no end, but it pisses me off even more that He put
himself in that position.

And, FWIW, they've been attempting to take down Jennifer Granholm ever since she won her first term. Luckily, it appears that, in those years, she hasn't broken the law.
