Why wasn't the Libby trial televised?

We can watch an OJ murder trial, and Anna Nicole Smith lawsuit on TV, but we can't watch a trial that really matters, something that affects each and every one of us? Is it up to the judge of the trial to decide if it is or isn't televised?

Me thinks, the entire nation could have benefitted from watching that trial.

And if they try to tell us we can't watch the Cheney trial that will hopefully be following, I'm going to ask for my money back.

4. Because corpmedia did not want THEIR COMPLICITY displayed during the trial.

Remember, some of the important testimony showed clearly that the WH had way too cozy relationship with some of these talking head reporters who carried their water for them quite obviously.

Like Matalin noting that Russert will help get their point out....and Andrea Mitchell making the claim everyone in DC knew Plame was CIA statement when it was untrue and only another Rove talking point.

7. No Scooter on TV

The Libby trial wasn't televised for the reasons noted above, plus on more: It didn't involve a blonde bimbo. Now, if Britney Spears outs a CIA agent, that will be another matter. Film at 11, plus live 24-hour coverage on CNN and MSNBC.

Turn on a camera in a court room and get the Emmys out. There'll be more showboating by laywers than Gershwin could have ever dreamed of.

The great part of this trial...and one I hope that does occur in future trials of this type is the live blogging.

9. OJ trial and the Anna Nicole lawsuit were media circus events, and not good examples to give.

Those 2 trials only cement the view that cameras have NO PLACE in a courtroom, because the judge, jury, and lawyers spend more time playing to the cameras than dealing with issues of substance.

10. Because he wasn't being tried for murdering his ex-wife and

her friend. I think we should demand that our legislators introduce a bill that trials of our high level government employees and elected officials, who have broken the law or committed treason against the Constitution, be televised at least on C-Span for the purpose of keeping the public informed.

What's with courtTV anyway? They should have been airing this everyday.
