Need another LTTE critique - this in response to the Pelosi plane "controversy"

Thanks. This is my letter, and the one below is what I'm responding to:

“Wake up America” needs to start getting his news from real sources and not from places like Drudge, Rush or Lou Dobbs. Even though the story about Nancy Pelosi demanding a special plane to fly to San Francisco was debunked by the Bush White House itself, it did not stop these rabid right-wingers from spreading this lie over and over again until people started to believe it. The truth is that the White House requested the larger plane for Pelosi so she could fly non-stop back to California. If she used the same plane as her predecessor, Dennis Hastert, it would have had to re-fuel along the way, creating an unnecessary security risk to Pelosi, the person that is behind only Dick Cheney in terms of presidential succession. Perhaps “Wake up America” needs to start smelling some coffee when they arise, instead of the believing everything they read and
hear.

I was amused with Joe Courtney’s note in the last issue of the Reminder. He is proud to be part of a Democratic majority that is “more closely tied to the needs of working families than previous Congresses.” In the meantime, speaker Nancy Pelosi is demanding from the Dept of Defense a 757 aircraft equipped with a conference room and a staff of 16 for when she flies back and forth from California. Each trip will cost the taxpayers more than $300,000. Past speakers did have access to small jets, not what she is asking for. Another example is during a recent DNC speech, Hillary Clinton told her fellow Democrats that she wants to take the profits made by oil companies and use the money to look at alternative fuels. Sounds good? Imagine being a business owner, who has a very profitable year and the Democrats step in and take your profits, because they feel you made too much, and give it to your competitor. Wake up America. The Democrats in power are ultra liberal, almost to the point of being socialist.
