5 years of war against nobody
The Iraq War (tm of Bushco) was over somewhere around two weeks after we invaded Iraq. The leader of the country vanquished and a new government installed.
What explains the last 5 years then? We have been occupying a country for no real reason and Bushco continues to call it a war. A war against who? Usually a war means at least two opposing sides. Bushco has identified only some murky group called 'the enemy' without truly explaining who that is exactly.
Questions I have asked many times:
When this "war" ends as all wars eventually do, who will be on the other side of the table to sign the peace treaty?
Who will be representing the "enemy"?
And most importantly, when will we know we have "won" when we not fighting anyone specifically now? What are the criteria for victory?

3. Your questions are unanswerable because there are no answers. Perhaps when the Iraqis agree to big
oil receiving 88% of the country's oil revenues, the enemy will have been beaten and we will have won.

The War to realign the Middle East to conform to American corporate and military interests by placing a puppet regime in Iraq with which to gain access to their oil reserves and funneling trillions of dollars from the US economy into the Military-Industrial-Complex, while simultaneously protecting Israel and Saudi Arabia, and possessing force projection ability towards both Syria and Iran just wouldn't be an easy sell.

At least that's what a few friends of mine thought during our second stay in Iraq...
