Pat Buchanan cancels annual celebration of Hitler’s birthday
Okay, that headline may be a stretch. But not by much. Check out Google regarding Buchanan’s history as an apologist for Nazis if you don’t believe me. Not to mention his anti-Semitism and (IMO) his racial bigotry.

Many wingnut pundits don’t really believe the crap they peddle. The reason they do it is because it beats flipping burgers, or heavy lifting. And it pays very well.

But Buchanan is the real thing -- a true major league bigot. Anyone who can make excuses for Nazi Germany is either a fool, totally nuts, or someone who genuinely sympathizes with the concept of a “superior, pure Aryan race.”

Buchanan was one of Nixon’s speech writers. (William Safire was the other.) When you find yourself writing speeches defending the indefensible, it’s time for a reality check. But Buchanan and his ilk have no doubts about the moral superiority of their opinions. (Yes, that means you too, Bay Buchanan.)

Why MSNBC continues to allow him to spew his hatred and bile is beyond me. Tweety, Tucker Carlson, and others are obnoxious enough. But I really don’t believe that they are in Buchanan’s league when it comes to people who have long ago lost whatever may fit the definition of a soul.

1. I said this in a thread yesterday, and I'll repeat it here
He's a racist maggot, and if he told me the sky was blue and it was sunny out, I'd bring my umbrella when I left my apartment.

Everything he says that makes a single iota of sense is said from his racist mindset. Never forget that. (Not you, Cyrano. You clearly understand that Buchanan's a racist and a Nazi-apologist.)

2. Him and the rest of his buds at National Review
Who built their movement on white opposition to civil rights, and on reactionary Catholic support for Franco-style fascism.

Remember this the next time someone wants to eulogize Bill Buckley as some noble high-minded pundit
