Market's Up a Little Over 250 Points - That's Refreshing
Not that its a sign of good times anymore than a spring shower marks the end of a drought. I'd be please to see it up if it were not for the seeming inverse relationship between the current value of US markets and the US dollar.

1. There is most assuredly...
A well-proven inverse relationship between market performance and the socio-economic performance of the economy.

15. I am glad this market is rallying
Every 200 points up makes entering a new short position later ever more appealing. Such is trading in a bear market.

12. Sucker rally, bull trap, whatever
It's not going to stay up for very long, IMO. This is a reaction to the new Bear Stearns deal that didn't shaft their shareholders quite as thoroughly.

The other economic news isn't enough to justify a go-go market.

10. Look at the weekly charts of major indicies.
These rallies just give large holders an opportunity to move out of equities. More downside to come.

20. The Fed Has Cut Rates To Below 3% Again
That's why the market has moved up. It's killing CD rates, so fixed income folks have to get into the market or lose money. That's the reason for the rally.
