*ATTENTION* NYers!. . Attack of the paperless voting machines!!
We told you the DRE vendors are like zombies, and will never, ever stop trying to force DRE machines on New York State voters. Once again, LibertyVote/Nedap are preparing to go to Court to challenge county purchases for accessible paper ballot systems, and to overturn New York State's right to test our voting machines to the strict standards we worked so hard to achieve. Read the details here ( http://www.nyvv.org/boblog/2008/03/22/the-law-litigation-and-libertyvote/ )

Last week the State Board of Elections was asked to allow counties to substitute LibertyVote DREs for the paper ballot systems ordered last month. But these DREs haven't been tested under New York's strong regulations and would require canceling the signed contracts for paper ballot markers. The Board must not let that happen.

Call the State Board of Elections before their meeting on Wednesday, March 26, and tell them our regulations require full and complete testing of all voting machines, and cannot be casually tossed aside. The Board must not give in to vendor pressure and allow untested DREs back into New York State!

Call the Board of Elections today and tell them to uphold the law.
