A caller on Thom Hartmann just said that truckers are striking today
Edited on Tue Apr-01-08 11:51 AM by thecatburgler
Independents across the country are not driving today and may stay out all week. Due to gas prices.

Anyone notice anything where you are?

On edit: I found this discussion on a trucker's forum. I guess this has been in the works for a while. I feel dumb for not knowing about it until now. Good for them and I hope it raises awareness.

1. Nope, but we don't commute and
...I don't shop till the end of the week.

I support the indy truckers 100% in their efforts.

2. I saw 40 or so trucks lined up down the street
Near a gas station on the south side of Chicago. Everyone was getting out of their truck to gather in a parking lot, was pretty neat.

5. What I've heard
is that this is a limited, one-day strike. That may have changed since this morning.

7. The price of oil is already coming down, and it has nothing
to do with their strike. It is the Republican campaign strategy.

8. A few-hundred dollar check & drop in gas prices --
Will it be enough to fool the fools again?

:(

9. It didn't work when they tried that shit in fall '06!
When everyone became suspicious, the oil producers claimed "drop in seasonal demand", and that it happens every year. Funny that it didn't repeat itself the following year!!
