I am just getting so tired of the bad news every day
Evey single day. Financial or political, the war or the economy. I wake up in the morning and the depression starts. The misAdministration keeps doling out pain every day. The Right (and the compliant Left in Congress) do nothing to improve my hopes for the future, and the media keeps telling me that my candidate is the Devil, every day. I'm going to be poor the rest of my life. If I lose my job, I'll die because there is no safety net for me. I am at the point of choosing medicine over food. And the heads of the oil companies tell me there is no future until we drain every last drop of oil from this planet and then maybe they'll decide to explore the alternatives. Oh, and their billions of dollars of profits are "cyclical", while I struggle to afford new jeans.

I just hate this. Now I understand why America has become dumbed down.

1. Some times you just gotta turn it off.
Concentrate on your daily life and let it go. That's what I had to do in the 80's.

2. I know the feeling!
But, I have found that volunteering costs me nothing, but gives me a lot more. I see that there are people in harder situations then mine, and that by helping them, I make new friend's, see smiles on kids faces, and get satisfaction that I stepped our and gave back to my community. I volunteer for a therapeutic riding program for special needs kids. If they can smile through some of the adversities in their lives, then I can try to rise above mine.

It also helps to turn the news off from time to time.

5. Thank you for that Debau2005
I've been close to volunteering but have just put it off.......I'm gonna do it now. I've turned off ALL political shows.....I just can't take any more of it. I'm watching the old game shows, cash cab, and old movies....I'm so much happier now. :patriot:

7. Don't get discouraged
if you volunteer somewhere at first that doesn't agree with you. Keep going until you find the right fit. I had volunteered several places before I found the therapeutic riding center, I know immediately that it was the place for me.

3. Don't let the bastards get you down!
Remember that there is an agenda in all of this.
They want to kill off as many people as they can, destroy the functions of government and privatize everything on the planet. Then they can own it all, and charge you and me usage fees for being alive.
That's what their trying to accomplish and they get closer every day.
If you let it get to you, they win!

Don't let them win...

4. Iknow what you are saying but try to put things into perspective.
We are not living through a war where our own neighborhoods are being bombed and destroyed, we are not living in the midst of starvation or plague that wipes out large sectors of the population. These are all disasters that many people have today, and have throughout history, had to face.

I think the hardest thing right now is our inablity to move the political agenda along towards a victory for our party in November. Stuck in this never ending quarrel between our two top candidates, it's easy to become disheartened.

Your health care/medication situation sounds just dreadful. Are there any social service agencies that can advise you on what assistance you CAN get? It is terrible what you describe that you are facing. Please let us know if you have found some solutions. I'm sure many DUers reading your post want only the best for you...

Love and hugs, Dain!:grouphug:

6. Drink more
That's what I do.
And follow my financial plan ... slowly max out every credit card then die and stick them with the bill. I only hope I've got the timing down right, though.
Look at it this way - just wait until McInsane's in charge. Go soldier boy! Bomb someone now, daddy!
Where's the fucking bloody mary?

8. Sometimes I have to just back off from it, watch less news, read less news
and political stuff, and watch GILLIGAN'S ISLAND on DVD.
