My 1000th post.

Well, here it is. I made it to 1000 posts. Now I can finally lay out ALL my positions. If you don't like something that I'm writing (I'm sure you will if you look hard enough), guess what, I'm still voting democrat so you're stuck with me. Don't be one of those fools that thinks that if I'm not super-leftist on every issue that I'm a repub.


On abortion: In short, I think abortion is murder. In long, I also believe that there are necessary evils in this world and that abortion should be legal so I'm pro-choice. However, I don't judge people based on their decision in this matter. My world does not revolve around this as it does for some other DUers.

On race stuff: I don't have white guilt. I live my life as a minority white being that both the place that I live and work are 20:1 other races to mine. When a bunch of white suburbanites come on here calling everyone a racist, I laugh because none of them would live where I live or work where I work. I work at a school that is supported by a local community organization. Once I posted my anecdotal account of what it's like to work there and got flamed for being a bigot. I also laugh at all the self-hating white threads where a bunch of DUers comment on how much they hate themselves for being white. It's stupid to hate yourself for what you are.

On guns: Frankly, I'm not sure what to think. Some days I'm Mr. Second Amendment and other days I'm Mr. Grabby Gun. I live in a place with a lot of gun violence but banning guns wouldn't make a difference because none of their guns are legal anyway, so in truth I don't know what to think about the matter.

On smoking: I'm allergic to cigarette smoke but that doesn't mean I can't adapt to the situation. I don't need the government to help me adapt by restricting freedom. It disgusts me when so-called progressives love fascism as long as it's leftist fascism.

On Going Green: I'm all for it as long as it's genuine. Right now I don't know what to think because it's a fad. Remember when it was a fad in the late 80's early 90's and then it went away and giant SUV's were born? Until it becomes uncool to go green I won't trust anyone who says it's a good idea... sorry. All these businesses that turn around and start charging more money in the name of green (like charging for plastic bags-- a quick and easy way to dupe people into giving you more money) are the ones that have really put me off. FWIW, I have a very small carbon footprint. I only drive on the weekend and I live in a 700 sq ft. house.

On GLBT: What the hell is wrong with GLBTers getting married? I don't understand that one. What's the big fucking deal... let GLBTers get married. I think sometimes that if GLBTers were a larger segment of the population they would have a much bigger voice.

On capitalism: It's not nearly as bad as some would have you believe. It's also not very good right now due to little regulation... that doesn't mean we should throw it way.

On religion: I'm an atheist. That does not mean it's ok for me to shit on every religion and hate people of faith like some at DU do. A true atheist doesn't give a shit what the god people do. As I stated above, I work at a school in the inner city supported by a local community organization. Sometimes they do prayers at assemblies and I hear A LOT of god stuff on a daily basis at my job. Guess what? I don't care. Those atheists that get offended because someone says "happy easter" to them at work are not atheists, they are anti-religion.

On Conspiracy theorists: GTFO of my party. Go start the Shitbird Fucktard Party. I can't believe I've seen prisonplanet.com be used as a news source on this site. I've seen all the Alex Jones movies because they're fun to watch but at no point in time have I ever been stupid enough to believe the bullshit he says. Within the first 10 posts I had on this site I was labeled a troll by a CTer because I said that a plane hit a tower once and not a hologram.

On republicans: I don't hate every last republican citizen like some people stupidly do on this board. I hate republican leadership and politicians, but not the individual citizens. I live in a very leftist place but my work is run by some people that DUers have told me does not (or shouldn't) exist: Black republicans. My boss talks on the phone with bush every few months and meets with him every year. According to some DUers I should be shitting on his desk every day, but guess what? I don't. I don't hate him or the other repubs I work with. They're just people and politics isn't the only way to relate to a person. The DUers who hate republican citizens and won't be friends with or talk to them are idiots. That means you just want to be surrounded by people who agree with you on everything, which is weak.

I think that's it. I probably forgot something so I might add more later in a response. Feel free to flame, I'm expecting it. Remember: I'm still voting democrat-- I support Obama over HRC but I would probably vote for HRC if she were the nom, even though I'm sure I've said I wouldn't at some point in time. So don't start with all the "you're a freeper, you're a repub" crap.

One more thing: the NASTY things I've seen posted by both sides of the primary argument have been atrocious. This was almost going to be a GBCW post just because of them, but I decided to stay.

Who the fuck are these DUers that everybody worships? They could put up a thread about any old thing and people will respond with "We fucking love you!!!" They could put up a bunch of inflammatory crap and people will be like "YES!!! You must shit diamonds since you're so enlightened!!!"
No Duer deserves to be worshipped. That's all.
