Bill Clinton To Speak At My School In NC Tomorrow Morning
Post questions you think I should ask him here. I will see if I can get one in.

Whether I get to ask him a question is one issue.

Whether I can get my ass out of bed to go at 7:30 a.m. to see if I can ask him is another.

But feel free to post potential questions.

(My uncle taught Bill at Hot Springs High School, by the way.)

9. I wore my Obama pin on a recent visit to Switzerland this winter.
As a chubby middle aged female, I couldn't figure out why so many men were smiling at me because I kept forgetting about the pin!

12. Hillary's already answered that one: Greenspan.
That's right - who better to figure out how to reverse the mess than the GENIUS who made the mess in the first place, right?

14. He taught Bill Clinton...
...English grammar, if memory serves me correctly. He later became principal of Hot Springs High. Still has a few projects and papers Clinton did back then.

8. If you want to hear him answer you seriously,
Edited on Thu Apr-03-08 11:00 AM by DFW
Ask him about something he truly cares about and is involved with long-term.
Poverty, AIDS, environmental issues, maybe something really interesting, like
niche third-world projects. He was recently all excited when an optometrist
suggested at his Global Initiative that there be a program to collect discarded
eyeglasses and distribute them to third world countries. They might not be
prescription fits, but they would allow people whose eyesight had gone years
or decades ago to see better. This kind of thing could improve literacy, competence at
work, mean less accidents which in third world environments could be life-threatening.
Another theme is desalinization, what with water being the next battleground for
peoples struggling for survival. The initiatives on the Mediterranean need to be
expanded worldwide, and he is interested in that, too.

If you want to waste his time and get your question answered quickly and with stock
deflection, ask him about Monica or Hillary. He is involved in so much more stuff that
matters, you could really learn something. If he is intrigued enough by your question,
he'll go on for a while about it, and maybe even invite you to discuss it with him
afterward, time permitting. He is really like that.

If you get a chance to ask him something, it seems a shame to throw the chance away
to ask about something irritating, but if that's the sort of thing that you find
important, do it if you must. Seems like a shame to waste the chance, though, don't you think?

13. Ask him what he's going to do if Hill loses? Will he hit the campaign trail for Obama? Or
does he have another project?

2. Why does Hill insist on injecting private insurance companies into a national universal health insurance proposal? Why not just socialize the insurance like we do retirement insurance, (Social Security)and self insure as a country?

Obama is coming to the University of Montana in Missoula on Saturday. Opens at 8am, and starts at 10am. So i imagine I will have to get there at 5am.

Sounds like a long wait. The last time I got to see the next president of the US was in 1992. I was running a field canvass for Montana People's Action, and we were on an over-night canvas trip to the Billings area.

Our contacts there didn't show up and it got late, so I just (on my own non-authority) got the crew to pledge to do a weekend make up day on the doors, and we went to see Clinton at the airport. It was just a few days before the election on the How the West was won tour.

And the rest is history. Clinton won MT and he won the election, Hill kicked the grassroots out of the health care debate, in fact shut down debate altogether and tried to impose a private health insurance industry solution and failed, health care reform was stalled until the present opportunity, and I got chewed out by the higher-ups for taking the crew to the airport instead of onto canvas turf. I can see it from thier point of view, but in my heart I still think I made the right choice.

One major difference this primary is that every single candidate for the Dems had a healthcare plan. And two of them were Single Payer Fee For Service plans. We need to push both Hill and Onbama on thier plans, because both of them as presented pretty well suck from my point of view.
