1. Oooh, I like this
Are you posting this every day? What a grand idea to nail the grand ol' party with their actions of death and destruction. Very excellent!

3. He is. He simply picks out the worst of the worst headlines from Latest Breaking News
that reflect the PoDD's systematic destruction of everything that threatens the promise of the United States.

This is GREAT stuff and I sincerely appreciate arendt's efforts.

6. Yes I am. It takes me ten minutes to cull the front pages...
I will definitely do this through Sunday (with a special "This Week in Death" post).
After that, it depends on whether people seem to want this.

But, I need to hear from people that they are reading it, or I won't invest the time.

Thanks for posting in this thread.

arendt

P.S. Take time to read "The Party of Death". It explains why I'm doing this.

4. K, R, possible comment later. Off to a doc's appointment now. Thanks, arendt.
This is so very valuable and should be a DU must read everyday.

5. Imagine this headline under a Democratic administration: "As Guantanamo trials near, Pentagon limits
what can be reported."

The RW would burn down the WH--yet with this bunch of enabling cowards in the administration AND the media, the headline barely gets a nod from the public.

Where is my country?

7. Good point, and a different take on the headlines than PODD...
my take is that this FRAME needs to be hung on the PODD. Your point is that the Corporate Media manage to take all this bad news and tell it in a way that "barely gets a nod from the public".

If my framing of the headlines "barely gets a nod", our democracy is over.

8. Given the lack of comment or recs, it would seem DU doesn't find this frame useful...
The first day, it got some attention.

But by today (day 3) it has vanished into "the clutter" of unframed random factoids.

Does DU want an empowering narrative/frame or just cocktail party conversation?

Give it a little more time.
I would kick if I could. Been reading a long time, I just don't post that much.
Please hang in there.

11. Thanks for posting, GrannyK.
I'm not quite sure what I'm hanging in there for.

I guess, after a week, I will have some statistics on which kinds of destruction get the most threads. But, that could just be a function of what people see in the Corporate Media.

I don't see anyone adopting the "frame", which is the whole point of the exercise. People just see their thread, their issue. They don't frame it as more "failed reactionary policies" or "more authoritarian garbage".

I promised myself that I would do this through Sunday, and I will.
