Folks, I'm serious - If the Dems don't win in November, I'm done with the Dem Party as a whole..
I've been following politics for now on thirty years. On each and every upcoming presidential election (with the exception of the 92 race very early on when Bush Sr had 92 percent approval) I thought, "if the Democratic candidate can't win this election, there's no hope for us."

In all this time, I have never seen the Rethuglican party in such dire straits. Amazing. So if the Dems can't win this year, I'm done. I'm not putting hope in the party or those who run it (except people like Howard Dean).

If we can't win this year........I'm done.

4. Explain to me....
Where I am showing signs of "fair weather principles." If anything, MY democratic party betrayed my principles long ago - torture, wire tapping, disdain for human rights, lap dogs to big industry, making a vote out of fear of losing a seat in Congress, rolling over for Bush, et cetera, et cetera.

So again, you show me where I have relaxed MY principles because of bad weather.

6. If Democrats lose in November, something went wrong.
What that is, is it the million dollar question. Is it because of internal conflict that drove away a lot of middle-of-the-road voters? Or is it because the voting machines were damn rigged?

11. Are you helping the cause? I am working at the campaign filed office
for Obama here in NC. I have made calls, given money, worked the front desk, registered voters, etc.
If we don't win, I'll feel justified being pissed. How about you? ;-)

12. I will vote
for whoever the Dem nominee is come November. But I think both of the remaining Dem candidates suck and I will not be surprised if Dems get their ass kicked in the general election. Disappointed but not surprised.

If Dems lose in November it will be their own undoing. The primaries have become a fiasco and it is not unreasonable to think the divisions between candidates and their supporters may have some long lasting implications. The fact that those divisions continue to fester and be fed are evidence of a lack of leadership by both candidates, their supporters and party leaders. There ain't nothing like winning the battle while sacrificing the resources required to win the war. It's a form of suicide.

Our two major national parties are remarkably similar - with similar loyalties resulting from financing. There isn't anyone who represents my interests and priorities. Hasn't been for quite sometime actually. And I know I am not alone. I suspect this is one of the reasons so many voters are apathetic.

My first priority is to take care of myself and my family. I will work to advance those who best serve my interests. The criteria is what works - not what sounds good. Ideology is for angels dancing on pin heads.

13. You must not know America very well.

Look at how many people are ignorant. That will never vote for someone who is not a caucasian male. The amount of ignorant who think Barack Obama is a muslim terrorist or the anti-Christ. The ignorant who will simply vote by "he was in da military, dat good nuff fer me." The republicans could nominate David Duke and in America he would have a chance.

14. I guess the one thing we have in our favor
is that the states where the totally ignorant live are mostly small in terms of population. There may be a lot of them, but at least the states that are most densely packed with people tend to vote more liberal. But if we can win more swing states like Florida and Ohio then I think we'll be alright. It's amazing when you look at the red state/blue state rundown from the last two elections. There's way more red than blue and yet the race was still very close.

19. There is a decades old darkside political machine within the Democratic Party,
this machine abandoned and despises the traditional Democratic base and voter and supports RW and even neoconservative policies.
