Life Below the Line: World Poverty
I don't know if anyone else has seen this documentary, but it was on our cable provider's HDNet channel tonight, and had some incredibly heartbreaking stories. It also included a few staggering stats that many Americans don't know or ignore, like the fact that 2% of the world's population owns more than half the world's wealth. I wish more people were as angered by that stat as this Socialist.

The documentary will repeat tonight at 11 pm central time as well.

And maybe we can all spare at least $5 for our local food banks.

I am hopeful that revolutionary socialists will one day defeat the new breed of slave masters known as corporate ceos and the greed mongering filthy stinking rich. The redistribution of wealth must reverse course and it will take a worker's/consumer's revolution to make it happen. Don't start the REVOLUTION without me. Poverty and despair CAN BE defeated if the masses of 'We The People' come together. I just donated to this type of cause tonight; I would encourage others to do the same!!!

2. Its happening in latin america
Edited on Wed Apr-09-08 09:57 PM by Juche
latin america has gone socialist in the last 10 years. Bolivia, Venezuela, Argentina, Brazil, Nicaragua, etc.. A couple of decades ago it was all military dictatorships, now it is becoming socialist democracies.

Combined with the socialism in Europe, that is a good start. Latin America is building an international band (ALBA) as well as other banks to counter the effect of neoliberal banks like IMF and the world bank.

It really just seems like if you kick people around for a decade or so, and they live in a democracy, they start to become socialist. It is happening here in America too. So don't lose hope.
