Coach gets 5 years of community control for child porn

NEWARK - Conservative evangelist and coach Dave Daubenmire wants to make an example of his son's child pornography case.

Zachary Daubenmire, 24, of Thornville, will be on community control for five years after changing his plea to no contest Tuesday morning in Licking County Common Pleas Court to pandering obscenity involving a minor, a second-degree felony.

Zachary Daubenmire already lost his new $30,000-per-year job as a Licking Heights special education teacher and the opportunity to continue as a volunteer assistant football coach for Heath High School when he was arrested last August.

Zachary Daubenmire apologized to his family, former Heath and Granville players and coaches, and others he hurt.

To me, that's coddling him when he should be in jail.
