my Dad was orchestra leader ...and wanted to tell Tony how great he did on gig...two big thugs told my Dad.."he ain't worth shit"...and muscled Tony away... he was OWNED by the mob.

edited to say..it was Tony they muscled away..this was an encounter in elevator. SAD

My Dad grew up with the Dorsey brothers, and Tommy told him how it went down when Sinatra wanted out of the contract he had with Tommy Dorsey. Gentlemen persuaded Tommy to let Sinatra out of his contract. He let him out.

in Vegas...my Dad was sitting next to him... he was an ass to the women..but treated orchestra great..it was a great night..mob boss had his full of him and knocked him out right at snack bar. It went all over the strip in an instant.via pbx operator...in the old days they were all very close. They all celebrated. (the women anyway) Dad gave an oral history to Nevada museum re old Vegas (we miss it)

edited to say..bet our fathers knew each other? Dad is 92 now..and would love to hear from old friends. pm me?
