More of the Same™ on health care
Edited on Fri May-02-08 07:14 AM by LuckyTheDog
From John McSame™.

Does this guy have ANY ideas of how own? Or does he just mimic all of GW's failed ideas?

Sen. John McCain on Tuesday rejected calls by his Democratic opponents for universal health coverage, instead offering a market-based solution with an approach similar to a proposal put forth by President Bush last year.

3. "inefficiency, irrationality and uncontrolled costs." is the state of
the Union. It is also a definition that McCain is using to deny Insurance to the uninsured.

"In a speech at a cancer research center here, McCain dismissed his rivals' proposals for universal health care as riddled with "inefficiency, irrationality and uncontrolled costs." He said the 47 million uninsured Americans will get coverage only when they are freed from the shackles of the current employer-dominated system."

Another attempt to move the pieces of the system around, and not solve the problem. I think if we can build a billion dollar war, we can certainly build a billion dollar medical plan that covers everyone.

5. The market has worked so well so far
Edited on Sat May-03-08 09:09 PM by Juche
4-8 more years of it should fix all the problems caused by the market in the last few decades.

This should be common knowledge, but every other wealthy country spends a fraction what we do on healthcare, some spend half as a % of GDP on healthcare that we do and they still provide good healthcare to everyone, and nobody is kicked out of the system. Also Medicare for all (HR 676) would save $400 billion a year in overhead and price negotiations, allow people to start their own business or change jobs w/o losing coverage and doesn't kick people out for pre-existing conditions.
