Rasmussen: Bush Job Approval Sinks to New (Monthly) Low
Edited on Sun May-04-08 04:40 AM by Lasher
Friday, May 02, 2008

During the month of April, just 34% of Americans approved of the way the George W. Bush performed his role as President. That’s the lowest full-month approval rating ever for the President measured by Rasmussen Reports. Just 14% Strongly Approve of the President’s performance and another 20% Somewhat Approve (see video).

Sixty-three percent (63%) currently disapprove, including 46% who Strongly Disapprove.

Prior to this month, the President’s lowest approval rating was 35%, recorded in June, 2007. In two other months, his approval has been as low as 36% (May 2007 and March 2008).

Although Rasmussen tends to give Junior higher marks than others do, this downward trend is confirmed by other polls. The current Real Clear Politics average is 29.3%.

2. In my estimation, not quite one third now.
Like I pointed out, Rasmussen gives Stupid higher marks than other polls do, on average. The RCP average is probably more accurate, and it's at 29.3% right now. I didn't think brain tissue would regenerate but if these poll results are accurate, idiocy is not terminal after all.

4. Well, I see where Rasmussen has caught up with where the other pollsters were 6 months ago
The real polls have him in the upper 20's.

6. Rasmussen must be doing something wrong.
Even the "upper 20s" number seems waaay too high to me. We long ago passed the point where every thinking person in the country has rejected this most awful of presidents. Do we really have 25% delusional people here? I know the quality of our citizenry is low and declining, but this just proves it in a really sad way.

There can be no rational basis whatsoever for saying that this sickeningly unqualified cretin is doing a "good job".

7. Absolutely!
That headline should rather read "Bush approval rating still astonishingly high."

8. It ain't over yet.
Nixon was at 24% when he left office. I haven't seen Stupid hit that so far but Newsweek did give him a 26% a couple of times last year, on 7/3 and 6/19. It won't be long before he hits 25%. All last month, 2 out of 3 polls reported 28% or less.

Just as he has emulated Hoover in his laissez-faire approach to the subprime mortgage chrisis, Junior's time in office has been a medley of every presidential fuckup in modern history, quite often surpassing the original. I'm sure he won't let Nixon's low approval record go unbroken.
