So... Cindy Adams saw Carville & Matalin at the Broadway show
"Thurgood" about Thurgood Marshall, the first black Supreme Court Justice. She asked Carville If Marshall would get confirmed in today's political climate.

He hemmed and hawed and couldn't come up with anything at all one way or the other, then Mary chimed in and explained that it was an "Art" evening, not a "Political" evening.

I guess they're not so quick-witted when they don't have the script in advance.

1. He was probably afraid Mary would kick him in the shins if he answered honestly. nt

3. How quaint. To be able to just put aside all that "politics"
To just put aside WHIG and the "Principals" (White House Iraqi Group and the WH Torture Team) You know - those political things that have resulted in the deaths and maiming of many. There's a time for art and a time for being political, doncha know. And just because those things political you engage in result in death and torture doesn't mean you can't be civilized and take time out for art...

7. And it's not even a case of life goes on either. It's a case of war criminals
- and all their little enablers - are allowed to have any kind of normal life at all.

Those tortured will never again have a normal life
Those killed...well, it's over for them.
But in America....people like MM get to go enjoy an evening of art.

And people just keep pretending it's all just so acceptable....

I know you understand....I'm just so enraged that they do get to walk around, free....

4. How They Sleep At Night...
I've always joked that that couple has that "certain nothing". But I can imagine around that house a certain set of ground rules have to exist. There are "political" evenings...kinda like boys and girls night out...Corporal Q-Ball hangs with his DLC buddies and Matalin heads to the underground cavern for a night of sadistic delights. Then there are "Art" nights...ya know, taking on the appearances of "sophisitication" and importance. When I go to the theater, I don't get interviewed on the way out...they were there to be seen..."patrons of the arts". I'm sure there are also "family" days...how they deal with his and hers or "vacation" when they get away from each other. I think Clinton refered to it as compartmentalizing...

5. It's a game to them.
Unless you cross them, of course. Then it gets serious.
