Reminder DU / Pat Tillman

Pat Tillman's mother is going to be on 60 Minutes tonight. It should be very interesting. Just a reminder to those who might be unaware.

This woman has been hell on wheels, digging for the truth. I hope she doesn't stop until she gets all the answers.

I really couldn't believe that such a fuckup, if that is what it was (at this stage, who really knows what's accidental and what's planned with this bunch), and a coverup, and we KNOW that's what it was, could happen.

It shone an ugly light on the military, from the way the troops are supported, to how operations are conducted, to the degree and ease with which people inside the Five Sided Funnyfarm will lie, cheat, and abuse their authority, and force those down the chain of command to obey shady orders using the 'national security reason' to cover their asses...and even the rank hypocrisy of the present awards system. Everything has been cheapened, and that horrible situation brought those realities to the fore. The only one who refused to be cheapened in that mess was the poor guy who ended up dead.

It really did show the DOD to be a bunch of shithead-tools. And that's a shame, because they used to be pretty damned good, and quite motivated. Now, it's just a fucked up, sleazy outfit. The poor people who don't buy off on the bullshit who are presently working in that organization have got to be in agony these days.

I really feel for the Tillman family. They have been wounded grievously, again and again, with the lies, the coverups, and the drip, drip, drip of information.

What happened to Pat was a travesty. Nothing less.

She's the talking head on this segment.
