Is McCain a stalking horse?
Edited on Sun May-04-08 06:36 PM by LuckyTheDog
At this point -- given all the negativity in the Democratic primaries and McCain's holiday from any real press scrutiny -- I would not be surprised to hear that he was ahead by double digits in the latest polls. But he isn't.

In fact, the CBS/NYT poll shows him BEHIND by double digits. And even in the Republican-friendly Rasmussen poll, McCain is statistically only tied with each of the leading Democrats. Wow.

All this makes me wonder whether the Democrats will really be facing McCain in the fall. I mean, are the diabolical Republicans really stupid enough to think that an aging Washington insider with a short fuse, bad health and no original policy ideas can be elected president? Or, is there another plan at work here?

This could very well be why Mitt Romney "suspended," but did not disband, his campaign.

After all the speculation about whether super delegates would decide the Democratic nomination, could it be the Republicans who go into the general election with a candidate who didn't win in the primaries?

I think this is areal possibility that we should watch out for.

2. I think Mittens will be McLoons running mate
And that's why any talk of Obama's running mate being a senator is foolish.

History says that governors or VP's (i.e. executive branch) will win the White House over a Senator. This year, we have the extremely rare matchup of Senator Obama vs Senator McCain. Logically then, it's probably going to be a governor as a running mate on both tickets.

Romney seems more likely than Huckabee for the 'pukes.

3. It really doesn't matter who his running mate is
They shall be appointed by the writ from the focus groups and the like...

McCain has the media behind him.

Not good.

5. I heard Greg Palast on the radio. The fix is in for the election, but we've got time to fix it

back. Here's what we must do:

1) All new voters, contact your registrar and confirm you are indeed registered to vote in November.
2) Do NOT vote by mail (high percentage of these are not counted).
3) Never under any circumstances accept a provisional ballot. Those almost never count. Demand your right to vote on a regular ballot.
4) Vote early so you will have time to remedy any problems with your registration.

Don't worry about them replacing McCain. Barring a medical circumstance, he's their guy. But let's just make sure all our voters get to vote and have their vote counted!

8. I don't think it's just new voters who need to check their registration
Unless you live in a state with same day registration, everyone should make sure they haven't been purged.

7. does ANYONE truly think the repukkes want it?
What is this? Alice in Bananapeelland? I guess the full import of 8 years of unbridled criminaLity and blatant theft of public assets hasn't gotten across, yet. Within ONE YEAR from today, everybody on earth will know- we are in an economic collapse of unprecedented dimensions, with the yardstick currency of humanity, the US dollar, worth less then toilet paper, and...well power will be transferred to guys who do not give a fukk about such goofy ideas as 'freedom' or 'human rights' or civilization. We entered the New Dark Age on Nov 7/1980, when a nitwit 3rd rate hack actor named ronald regan was put in the most powerful office on earth, and no one had the wit to see it or point out the obvious- regan wasn't a power politician, he was a front man for a political gangster organization, which had gotten him the job of Calif guvner ...
