Anyone Interested in Snake Oil?
National news media burying amazing oil breakthrough?
Man working to convert all that grows into fuel surprised by 'inattention'

It could potentially be one of the biggest energy breakthroughs in history – genetically manipulating bacteria to quickly convert anything that grows out of the Earth into oil. But the biggest names in the national media have thus far not provided any coverage of this possible solution to skyrocketing gas prices and America's long-term energy security.

A WND story last month introduced to the nation a new technique where altered bacteria "rapidly digest" everything from grass clippings and wood chips, turning them into hydrocarbons for fuels such as gasoline and diesel. If done on a large scale, it could provide billions of barrels of renewable oil every year

1. and what if it gets out.. big chance of that making billions of barrels of green house oil
stupid shit..

focus on over voltage Hydrogen, every household could have a 3x3xx4 box making moderate usage and putting watts into the grid, at no cost, other than the unit. which could costless than $3000

there are videos of this on youtube, the Meyers patient expired and thousands of people are experimenting with it.. present company included.

there are under voltage units now on cars doubling their gas mileage , the units are a couple hundred dollars if you make them, there is furniture at Target harder to put together.

6. Why bother? Oil is made at the center of the earth and thrown up by centrifugal force!

I have no idea if these morons are serious.

7.  it was produced during the big die off before the dinosaurs by ocean plankton and bacteria
in a super green house event when the shallow inland seas went septic.. the guys idea is valid, only ill thought.. algae in a Texas facility are already making 1000+ gallons an acre pr month.. the Omega3 fatty acids in fish are from the algae they eat, the algae is 50% oil, the oil is spun odd leaving a pure food.. that can be eaten , composted, or used for biomass to make nearly an equal weight of methane.

they want to bubble industry stack fumes they the media to have the algae remove the carbon

8. If (a very large if) that hypothesis is anywhere near correct, it still doesn't help
Edited on Tue May-06-08 09:00 PM by coriolis
We don't have a "super greenhouse" or shallow inland seas...or millions of years to percolate the stuff. There is no present or even developing technology that can come close to meeting anywhere near today's energy demands that are met with conventionally produced hydrocarbons.

edit: Strange coincidence! 5 seconds after I hit 'post', I pulled up the Dish Network guide on my TV and coming on in 7 minutes, channel 9412 UCTV is "Algae as Biofuel"

I'll TIVO it

another edit: UCTV is University of California Television
;-)

9. Clinton/gore had a nationalized solar project that would produce about 72% of daytime energy,.. W
canceled it his 3rd day in office and sold it to crony's for pennies on the dollar, amsoil can free us from f,foreign oil. 300,000 mile oil changes, maybe 15% better gas mileage and the engine/trans..running gear Will last over 1,000,000 mile..

combine these and we have a chance, if we do it now.. you have been brain washed to believe it cant happen, by the oil companies

11. Wait, wasn't there a bioengineered bug that would eat oil?
You know, for like cleaning up oil spills and stuff?

I guess they just inserted the gene backwards in this new one!

What a pair though huh, talk about symbiosis. They'll probably be the last two organisms standing.
