Congratulations to Jenna Bush on her wedding
I could be wrong, but I think she is miles ahead of the rest of the family. Let's pray that she stays that way.

So, (lifting a glass of champagne) here's to Jenna.

11. I agree
I see little hints of sanity here and there... despite her college years. But then I remember a few times in college that I would just as soon forget, too.

Her first hint of sanity, by the way, was not having a White House wedding. 3 points for that one.

13. Granted, some children do act... gruff...
but if Britney, and that's not to compare Jenna by as I think nobody can even compare to Brit but I digress, can clean up her act, so can other people. That incident was years ago. Brit somehow turned around in weeks.

Benefit of the doubt, though ideally parties gone wild are uncouth in the first place. Our mainstream society says people who don't do these things are the problem, so there's not much I can really say in the end. Just observe from the outside looking in and say "fascinating" like how Spock would after poppin' some valium...

20. Sympathetically, I think of Julie Nixon and how her father lied to her . . .
and it's tough to insist that a daughter should overcome her blindness about her father ---

This is true evil in the White House --- both parents are weirdly inspired to do harm, it seems.

I, too, hope that Jenna Bush will find a new and different way of doing business.

22. Sorry but we are at war. She is on the other side. She belongs to the ruling aristocracy
that is waging a war with our children's money. Her friends are stealing the treasury from under us. Her father and friends made this into a class war and she hasn't chosen our side. How does she feel about the families of the people being tortured or killed by her dad. She is immune to serving her country in Iraq like the middle class and poor classes.

29. Yes I completely agree. What merits should we judge her on to this point? Does she support the
burning of Iraqi children with phosphorous bombs? Does she agree with her dad that we need to expand the war into Iran. Has she done anything to help out her fellow humans? Did she enlist? Prey tell me what she has done to this point.

Until she proves herself otherwise, she is just another member to the Bush crime family.

Jenna Bush not on board with McCain (MSNCB)
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24294565/

Plus she and her sister attended a gay wedding, over their father's objections. Very un-Repblican.
http://rawstory.com/exclusives/selinger/girls_gone_wild_bush_twins_gay_826.htm

Plus she volunteered for UNICEF in Africa, chronicling the lives of HIV-positive children.

Plus she wrote a book about it, which shows initiative and compassion for people who don't look like her. That's about as un-Republican as it gets.

Plus she's a school teacher and (presumably) belongs to a teachers union. Very un-Republican.

There is hope.

46. I've always thought Jenna Bush was a refreshing change from her other family members
Edited on Sat May-10-08 05:26 PM by aint_no_life_nowhere
Whereas her mom sold dime-bags of marijuana but pretends to be a goody two-shoes and her father refuses to discuss his youthful indiscretions that lasted into his forties, Jenna Bush has engaged in public drinking sprees, has gone to public strip joints, and has never tried to hide the fact that she's a normal fun-loving girl who likes to drink and have sex.

However, I don't think this wedding deserves any more attention than that of the neighbors down my street. Jenna Bush's wedding makes news because her father stole the Presidency. We wouldn't be talking about the wedding of the daughter of a shoe salesmen, which is what George Bush would be if not for his daddy who has paved his way through life and connived to get his son a job he didn't deserve.

62. My wedding wish for the newlyweds
May you soon have a child.

May the grandfather cradle that child in his arms, drinking in the pure perfection of humanity.

May he marvel at its smell, touch, beauty, innocence and trust.

May he finally realize to what he has condemned the human race.

May he realize, in that moment, that what he - the monster - has wrought will affect ALL humans, even the privileged.

And may he ask his God for forgiveness...and may his God forsake him.

A perfect prayer for a most appropriate moment.

But the Chimp has no clues to what Karma is. He is blind but to his own pocket book!

-----------------------------------

Hey Bush Sucubants...! Karma was taught by the Buddha before any Christian doctrine. However, Karma was introduced and is now enshrined in the Bible. Some teachings are Universal... in which you have no understanding of.

"He who lives by the sword... shall die by the sword"

Karma sucks... don't it Repukes?

66. She can't be that far ahead of them...look who she picked to perform the wedding ceremony
Edited on Sat May-10-08 10:38 PM by rainbow4321
The preacher she chose to marry them today thinks that being gay is a curable disease.

http://overthetopblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2008/05/bush_wedding_bl_9.html#more

Back in January, when Rev. Caldwell announced his support for Sen. Obama, an online magazine called TalkLeft: the Politics of Crime said "new questions about Obama's commitment to fighting homophobia will be raised by the news of this endorsement by Rev. Kirbyjon Caldwell. This is troubling because Rev. Caldwell is, like Donnie McClurkin before him, a believer that homsexuality is a curable disease of the soul." The online publication alluded to a program sponsored by Rev. Caldwell titled "The Way, The Truth and The Life," designed "to provide Christ Centered instruction for those seeking freedom from homosexuality, lesbianism, prostitution, sex addiction and other habitual sins." Another online publication, Pam's House Blend, cited passages from Rev. Caldwell's pitch for the program: "Since the fall of mankind in the Garden of Eden, men and women throughout the ages have attempted to fulfill these deep emotional needs outside a relationship with God. In doing this, sinful patterns of living were developed, preventing the fulfillment of these needs as God intended. If you desire to learn to live life as God designed it, you are invited to join 'The Way, The Truth and The Life' program."

67. Indeed, congratulations Jenna...

Introducing Renee and Ty Ziegel. Mr. Ziegel was injured when a suicide bomber detonated himself near Mr. Ziegel’s truck in Iraq.

This is Tara Nelson. She was attending her fiance's funeral one week before she was going to be married to him. He was a US Army soldier, killed in Iraq. Like Jenna Bush, Ms. Nelson is 26.

Meet Breisy Mercedes and Sergio Mercedes Saez. Breisy was widowed at age 23 when her husband Sergio was killed in Iraq--11 days before his tour was set to end.

These are mourners near a Baghdad hospital...an attack on a wedding party killed the bride, the groom, 9 children, and 12 others.

*******************

Yes, congratulations Jenna. Enjoy your storybook life of comfort and privilege.

71. i think...
we should congratulate every couple on this, their day, and wish them the best. the troubled journey that it will be, the less than a 50% crap shoot it is for any success at all.

(and i also believe everyone should be able to partake in this day. everyone.)

why not?

i never blame the child for the sins of their father. you don't really know her. i don't really know her.

so why not?

salute, all young couples wed on this day. may your partnership and lives be glorious. may your vows be intact throughout time...

74. I don't know about that
Some "Family Values" they have.

At least she is "entertaining" the thought of voting for a Democrat.

She is a creation of Dubya's seed. Like Daddy like Daughter.

That entire crime family, their future prodginy, their sicophants and their loyal 28%ers will never be able ammend for the death and sufferings they have wrought on this world.

For those of you who believe in "Karma and Re-Incarnation", you know this family is doomed for every life they have taken. To be reborn in even more missery after the next until they have exhausted the Karma they have achieved. Every military member who died in Iraq, every Mother, Father, Child, Aunt, Uncle, Grandparent, and all other inocent persons lost in this filty, bloody occupation for oil, can be directly attributed to this loathsome family.

May they burn in hell... peacefully of course.

Weren't you out there in 2004 campaigning to give your idiot, war criminal father another term? I take it you must support his senseless slaughter in Iraq then.

As you go to sleep with your new hubby tonight, I want you to think about the thousands of husbands and wives who are now widows and widowers thanks to your scumbag, piece of shit dad. Pleasant dreams.

You picking out people who are miles ahead of the rest of her family doesn't convince me of anything.

79. Hey I wish her well and thank her for not having at the WH
You could see the media all day wishing they could've had the weekend frenzy of a WH or at least been invited to the wedding in Crawford.

Thank you Jenna for not subjecting the rest of the country to that.

Now have a nice life, and do us the further favor of staying out of politics!

You congratulate a Rove flunky and descendent of
Nazi war crimes?

What the hell is the matter with you?

92. It's like sending "good wishes" to a pedophile!
As IF the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
The little bitch would gladly see us all dead
if it meant more bounty for them.
She WAS after all, the junta rep for the land grab in
Paraguay.
Does anyone REALLY believe she doesn't know what is
planned for the rest of us?

Good lord, let's all send the dictators of the planet
thank you cards while we're at it.

91. Am I wrong to think this whole thing screams out "arranged marriage"?
Edited on Mon May-12-08 03:48 PM by Fighting Irish
The groom worked for Rove, fer cryin' out loud! His father was also a big player in the GOP. And he's got that creepy Young Republican look - pasty white skin and D.C. hair helmet.

Jenna seems to be her own person, but this whole thing seems like it was set up.

Nonetheless, congrats.

94. While this wedding rates about a minus two on my give a shit meter
I'm continually fascinated by DU'ers ability to assign guilt by association. I really don't know anything about Jenna other than a few (mostly unflattering) snapshot of her as a teen and in her early 20s. I'll reserve my judgments for people that I do know something about, like her father, who sucks.
