Wal Mart......Where art Thou?
I went to Wal Mart Today to buy gas. I HATE WAL MART, but if I buy a pre-paid card, I save 3 cents a gallon.(Whoop dee doo) Being that gas is going up 30 Cents a week, I don't reckon that 3 cents a gallon is a great savings... but , none the less, I am desperate..like most Americans. So here is what really happened today. I pulled up to the pumps at Wal-Mart. A young girl (about 30) <smile> came running over to me. It Seems that when she opened the door to her car, the wind took her $20 bill and removed it from her hand. It went flying to (who knows where) She was so upset. She had her sick father in the car, her little sister and her mother. $20 was all she had between her and not knowing what to do? So I stopped pumping my gas. Being a Boater, I analyzed the wind direction , and I directed her to the open field just East of her location. I told her, that if the wind was blowing in this direction, she should look "downwind" to find her money. Sure enough, after 10 minutes, we found her $20 dollar bill stuck in some weeds East of the Pumps. She started to cry uncontrollably. The Moral of the story? American's are one tank of gas away from disaster. This girl was trying to cope with her sick father, no employment and $5 gas. $20... to her.. was like life and death. Do you think $20 is important to your Congressman? Do you think $20 is important to your Senator? Bush wants $193 Billion Next year for the War in Iraq , and not a penny for Vets coming home , with their arms and legs blown off. http://www.alternet.org/blogs/waroniraq/71980/ Do you think Fox News or MSNBC gives a shit about your sick Father, or how much you pay for gas? We are all guinea pigs and this meat-grinder is what we call LIFE-IN-AMERICA (Thanks to the Neo-Cons). Is this what they promised us after WW-II? I don't think so. Is this what America Stands for? I don't think so. The focus is on Washington, D.C. We are paying these assholes millions of dollars per year and they are returning pennies. Are you not pissed yet?

1. The only reason they offer the $.03 is to get you in the store
Impulse purchase makes up for that $.03 ten times over.

3. I buy my gas at Kroger
Edited on Sun May-11-08 08:08 PM by NotGonnaTakeIt
I don't have to make sure a Wal-Mart card is charged up to get the piddly 3 cents off. Kroger also offers 3 cents off with a Kroger Plus card, all you have to do is scan it at the pump. Kroger and Wally Mart always match each other in the cheapest price in my area also. And as an added bonus, if you buy $100 worth of groceries, Kroger gives you 10 cents off/gallon. I was pleasantly surprised the other day when I went to buy gas there and got the 10 cents off; they keep tabs on it for you as well. Every little bit helps nowadays.

2. I am beyond pissed!
And thank you for sharing. As usual in today's America, words fail me. We must keep focused on change, making things better for all of us. We are all just one gas tank, one meager paycheck away from disaster. I realize that more and more each day.

Best,
Tired Old Cynic

4. Booosh says "Mission accomplished" and we drive on fumes to our low paying jobs.
He and Citizen Dick handed our energy policy to the oil industry and laughed all the way to the bank.
I buy gas at Costco...cheapest in my area.
Buck Fush.

5. Hopefully the pain everyone is feeling will wake them up to the...
bigger picture, we are in for some serious change soon and I doubt any of us will gain from these changes. Just look at the laws that have been changed and the signing statements that bushy has done ever since the their next pearl harbor,9/11. If you look at them, they aren't to make us safer, it looks like they have more to do with controlling the citizens of this country and I doubt they are doing it just for fun. Hell our borders are still wide open and most cargo that comes into the country still goes unchecked.

They say they wont impeach because they don't want to waste time so they can do Americans business, so why are they wasting time passing a law so they can come and take your computer if you or your children have ever downloaded an mp3 or any other copyrighted item without permission from the owner? They are going to set aside funds to facilitate taking peoples computers, not setting up a way to fine us or give us another penalty, just take away your means of getting real news and information or even gathering on websites like DU????

The patriot act, suspension of habeas corpus(hopefully everyone knows what that means), thought crimes bill, you name it. I expect bushy didn't make martial law available to him if something happens that hits our economy, just for fun.

I will shut up now, I guess I am just one of those people the media calls a conspiracy theorist and everything in the country is just going fine.

Nothing to see, I will just move along!

6. Didn't Obama say saving $30 bucks wasn't much and that people didn't need the money?
Just saying.
