Senator McCain, we can always wage war against Iran. All military options are on the table and have never been removed. Ensuring that Iran does not posses nuclear weapons will be a top priority of my administration. But before we go the military route and risk the lives of our brave troops to whom we owe so much, destabilize the region even further and cause gas prices to skyrocket higher than they already are, we should first try whatever diplomatic initiatives may prove fruitful. This administration has an abominable record when it comes to diplomacy and you seem to want to carry the tattered banner of the failed Bush administration. Diplomacy should be our first weapon. As a person who has witnessed the horrors of war, you should be especially sensitive to the obligation that we owe the men and women of our armed forces. America used to be a strong enough nation to attempt diplomacy first. Under my administration, we will be strong once again.
