Local Fox station investing lies told by Recruiters. 4 suspended.
Minnesota's Fox 9 ran a story investigating the lies told by military recruiters to convince kids to enlist. They picked up the story thanks in part to all the work that we have done through YAWR (Youth Against War and Racisim) exposing the lies of recruiters. They decided to investigate whether what we were saying was true, and found that yes, it was - that recruiters routinely lie about the money you will make, the college money available, the jobs you can get, whether you will be sent to Iraq, etc. The video features interviews with Ty and Peter as well as coverage of the YAWR youth contingent on March 15th and the protest at the University of Minnesota on March 27th.

"TomInTib, with vision like yours, you could qualify to be an Aerial Photographer which I later learned translated to Target in a Helicopter Door.

2. Some things never change
Back when I was prime meat for these guys (late 80s/early 90s), I caught more than one recruiter lying through their teeth.

3. My recruiter in the mid '60s promised me Navy nuclear power school
for a 4 year enlistment, and I signed my first contract ever at the age of 18.

When I got to boot camp, and went to the evaluation that assigns recruits to schools following basic training, I saw the enlistment contract I had signed, and the 'type' where it had stated "Nuclear power school" was lifted and changed to FA recruit, which basically means; "This sucker who signed the contract is now officially fucked, so continue to shit all over him because there is absolutely nothing he can do about it without getting mega-fucked for trying to screw with us who outrank him."
