Threads and posts happy about Ted's condition being removed like Crazy at Free Republic.
Not fast enough, RimJob.

I will not repeat what I have seen over there in the last few minutes.

One trick that they like in this situation, is posting something like: "To avoid suspension, I will not say what is on my mind."

RimJob for some reason doesn't delete those.

If only from a liability standpoint, I'd think they'd get those deleted fast.

12. key word: "wake" of deaths. meaning "after the fact"
it's a bit different--than encouraging some loose cannon to go out and try to kill someone.

19. Excuse me, dsc, but Ted Kennedy never has wished or visited
want, torture or death on millions of people.

Being dead doesn't make you righteous, it makes you the subject of memory. The way people remember you is determined in part by who you were in life.

Reagan, Falwell and Thurmond were destructive in life and were remembered that way. When Senator Kennedy passes, which hopefully won't be for a long, long time if we are lucky, our remembrance will be of his innumerable efforts on behalf of the American people.

There is no equivalence whatsoever.

Edited on Sat May-17-08 03:10 PM by sfexpat2000
after the torture exporting, union busting, poverty generating evil bastard Reagan died.

Sorry, I'll risk being called "crass" to keep the record straight, not to mention, my grasp on reality.

Edit to add (because it's hard to keep track of all the damage he did) AIDS denier evil bastard Reagan.

26. Well don't complain if freepers are crass with Ted Kennedy
then. I might disagree with them but they consider him their enemy. And I used to think we were classier than them.
Sadly DU has taught me that extremeists on both sides are very alike in some way.

Edited on Sat May-17-08 03:22 PM by sfexpat2000
And, do you consider it extreme to object to the propaganda narrative of the day?

Is it extreme to point out the truth? I guess I need to be an extremist, then. :)

ETA: Some of us seem to be using the Faux model where there are two equal sides to every bs argument. There isn't. There are people whose net worth to a culture is positive and others whose net worth is negative. It doesn't really go "both ways" unless you are willing to overlook the actual content of a person's life, although that has been the Faux argument for the last twenty years.

43. wrong. i have watched du'ers with vengence go after the repugs that are ill or die
in gleefull joy. and as many du'ers suggest they not be so disgustingly gleefull over others pain, ... it is ignored and stated they have the right to HATE.....

we started with reagan and have progressed over the other deaths and illnesses and then dare to turn to freerepug and say shame

it is pure hypocrisy

it is not a matter of saying we both od it like how you are referring to so many instances. in this situation du has MATCHED anything free repug has handed out. i didnt like it when we did it. and said we could no longer take the higher road. and though i never danced on the graves or wished someone pain.... i will not now stand in hypocrisy cause freepugs do it with kennedy.

we have nowhere ot point the finger, but back at ourselves

i always felt shame when the board went thru that and walked away from the board until it died down

i wont pretend our board didnt do it too

maybe this will finally be a lesson for us... but gotta own it.

Those people get a lot of attention and imho, we over correct for them.

It took four or five days for the media to print or play correctives to the Reagan b#llshit and, you know, that was too long. There were plenty of measured responses before then.

There was a lot of classy people here when his cancer was announced. But there was JUST as much nastiness towards him that the mods had to remove quickly as well.

I certianly don't think so.

MA likes Ted Kennedy. The rest of the country? Not so much.

The average American wouldn't get a pass if some chick dies in their car and they leave the scene of the accident.

I do hope he recovers. He is the best example of dems being able to get away with anything that we have in the Senate.
