North Carolinians -- y'all doing okay in this storm?

I'm in Clayton - the worst of it passed over a while ago, but it made me nervous for a while. Especially the tornado warning when they kept mentioning "Clayton". I was seriously wondering if I should grab Nero (my cat) and lock myself in my downstairs bathroom.

I don't know what it was about this one, but usually I LOVE these storms - this one was kind of hairy. We got brief hail, nothing like they were showing on the news.

Still hearing some booms, but that's pretty much it.

How are you doing in your area?

We need the rain badly in Asheville, nothing too serious, so far.

and it's just now getting to us. I think I'm going to have to unplug the computer here in a few minutes so it doesn't get fried. It's not lookin' good out there.

Many reports of trees down -- just got a report of tornado damage. Also power outages -- so we were lucky. :hi:

9. Great pics --

I usually love the storms here, but I was a little nervous today when they kept naming my town at the head of the list when mentioning potential tornadoes.

I'm from Seattle and I'm used to earthquakes. I almost prefer those - you don't know it's coming, and by the time you realize what's happening, it's usually over.
