See twit on CSPAN's Washington Journal, Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee, live as of 8:00 am EDT today (5/21), for example.

1. That's a never ending Headline is it not?
MEMBER'S OF THE PARTY OF RESPONSIBILITY ONCE AGAIN TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANYTHING.

A lone voice in the back of the press room asks "was four dollar a gallon gasoline part of cheney's SECRET energy task force way back when?" The question goes unanswered.

5. The little propaganda talking point memo she shared was classic , too.
Point by point it "shows" that the Democrats plans can only turn back five cents a gallon. But the Republicans of course, by drilling Alaska and selling all the oil reserves, for example, and giving the oil companies free reign to maximize their profits without government intervention, will magically lower the price by almost $2!!

2. But, but but what about their oil president????
Don't republicans have an oil president who was going to turn ON the spigots?

I seem to recall him saying this: "I would work with our friends in OPEC to convince them to open up the spigot, to increase the supply. Use the capital that my administration will earn, with the Kuwaitis or the Saudis, and convince them to open up the spigot."

Turn on that spigot bush, we are waiting.

3. Typical Repuke blame-shifting.
It's all they're capable of - screwing things up and then leaving others to fix the mess.

Does Iraq come to mind?

4. The Saudi 'Ass Kisser' 'Oil Man' in the White House is directly
responsible for the price of gasoline. Cheney's meetings with the energy moguls was a promise to them for big profits by gouging the American people. :dem:

21. Did he?
I think he went over there and laughed in private about the rise in oil prices, which is enriching him and his oil buds immensely. I would not be at all surprised if they arranged for a lowering of oil prices / opening of the spigots around, say, next September/October.

Just a hunch.

13. More Revisionism
Boner has been trying to push this talking point for a couple weeks now...as though the 12 years the GOOP ran the House like a brothel didn't exist. Another phony talking point is the need to develop "alternative sources"...nifty, eh...ya get the green points for the use alternative when those sources are hidden under the Alaskan tundra.

Marsha's know for being a world class twit...just wind her up and she'll spew any talking point with that cute little southern drawl of hers.
