what "it's" like right now...
Edited on Wed May-21-08 03:17 PM by nashville_brook
as summed-up in an email from a friend...

we're in some kind of PTSD haze where nothing shocks people anymore. When government takes such outrageous action, and then, (more outrageously) DEFENDS it, and are (more and more outrageously) partisans among the populace support it, we're at a loss for words (or action).

It's like someone walking up to you randomly, punching you in the face, and, when you complain, arguing loudly and tirelessly that what just occurred was the American Freedom and Safety Punching Strangers in the Face Act, and accusing you of being a traitor for even mentioning your surprise. What in the world would you say or do? The right answer is to either a) have them arrested or b) knock them cold, but we seem capable of doing neither.

1. Same strategy Hitler used - keep the abuses coming bigger and faster all the time.
It leaves us so dazed we don't even know where to begin.
