Is a barrel of oil forty gallons or fifty gallons?
If it is forty gallons as I suspect then unrefined crude oil is now selling for $3.32 a gallon. It takes quite a bit to refine it into gasoline so $4.00 a gallon is not even close to what it will have to be if these prices continue..

3. Actually it is 42 gallons, as sold on the
board of trade. I think each barrel yields around 43-44 gallons of product after "cracking".
