1. Isn't this the state that ensured John lost in 04? Last I checked nothing
has come of the allegations of voter fraud not only in florida but Ohio as well, perhaps a bit of major investigating should begin for real this time...I doubt seriously knowing people in Ohio that McCain would be winning, the state is getting poorer but every second since bushco has stolen this country, why would they allow bushco 2 to continue, does not make sense and people of importance should take note.

6. Ohio...
...is getting poorer by the minute because of NAFTA, and because of all the companies moving facilities and jobs away to southern states. It's just too damn easy to move an office or manufacturing facility or even a data center seven hours down the road to Charlotte or Raleigh or Richmond.

I'm from there originally. I have three friends there who are either in bankruptcy or have been in bankruptcy within the past ten years.

Another problem there is demographics. It is by far the stiffest, most staid, inflexible place I know of outside West Virginia or Louisiana. Skill sets and overall educational levels stink. Even worse is the entitlement mentality, which is a holdover from the days when so many of the companies did government work during the war.

The Feds can't fix Ohio. Ohioans have to fix Ohio by ponying up billions of dollars for improvements to primary, secondary and post-secondary education...and then they'll need more billions to rebuild the state's physical infrastructure.

None of this will happen in my lifetime.

2. Complete idiots I'm afraid
Cleveland and Columbus metro areas are very good. well informed blue areas. Dayton and Cincinnati however are right wing shit holes as constantly demonstrated by the representatives they elect.

4. He isn't.
The summer isn't even over yet.

But, then again, he may still benefit from Diebold's "grassroots" there.

7. Early, early, early polling ... Ohio will vote Dem this year
Unlike the past two cycles, the Democrats control the state government from top to bottom. The GOP is in complete disarray and the last GOP Governor, Taft, had an approval rating in the single digits when he left office. The GOP brand name is at rock bottom in Ohio and this will be reflected once our nominee emerges from the current, divisive fight.

Patience. Ohio will be a blue state in November.
