GIVE ME PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION or GIVE ME DEATH!!
Stop Asking!!

Demand!!

Time is up!!

Not ONE of these politicians on EITHER side of the aisle who actually has power (ha-ha) gives one thought to you.

They are owned lock, stock and barrel by LARGE Corporations!!

YOU ARE NOT!! their constituents.

The petitons are worthless. The phone calls (to the junior aide) amount to exactly NOTHING!!

IT IS TIME!!

2. Damn right!
And don't expect anything from the greens or libertarians or other assorted whiney so-called "independents" either!

All they do is muddy the conversation with claims of intransigence and insert the GOP's favorite talking point: doubt!

Fuck you to all so-called "independents" who cannot get a constituency and who don't participate in the political process!

I would have my public transportation if it wasn't for them!

5. Very good
That forum needs more action as does the topic in general on a societal level.

The politicians will never ever ever not in a million years address this in a meaningful tactile functional way until we get sassy, determined and in the way.

7. OK! Here is how we did it locally. No fares, great service. Chapel Hill, NC
Check out what we have done in Chapel Hill, NC (and Carrboro). http://www.chtransit.org

Durham is moving towards fare-free service, too. With luck they will be there by fall 2009. The rest of the Research Triangle is still struggling with this level of service.

In spite of Chapel Hill's efforts, the regional transit needs are not being met very well. The state is working to upgrade and re-institute rail service on intercity routes and trying to do some commuter rail services, but we still have too many beholden to highway construction and the related real estate development.

So what is your point, what is your plan?
