Why do we care about the Kennedys?
Because they always cared about us.

Born to wealth and privilege, they didn’t take the wingnut route advocated by their father, Joe Kennedy. Instead, they devoted their political careers to furthering the well being of the American people.

Their personal peccadilloes and political stumbles have been many. But their public lives have inspired people of good will to admire the way in which John, Bobby and Ted fought for the common good, the downtrodden and the fulfillment of the “American dream” for all.

I can only hope that Ted Kennedy will see many more years. He and his brothers have embodied the meaning and spirit of what it truly means to be a liberal. However you may define that word, it must include being a decent, caring human being.

Whenever you step into a voting booth, please remember what I said above. We care about the Kennedys because they always cared about us. And then ask yourself which candidate really cares about you.

Far too many people don't take the time to read long posts and that's unfortunate. Your post was well worth the time it took to read it and I hope others will do so.

7. I'll laud a family of good spirits over war profiteers any day.
Better booze than war.
