Poll question: Least Repugnant Republican.....
Edited on Sun May-25-08 10:18 AM by marmar
Yeah, I know it's like trying to find a needle in a haystack....but who comes closest? Or who's at least not completely despicable?

From what I've heard, she has a higher favorability rating with Alaska Dems than she does with the Republicans. Anybody that can get Dan Fagan so worked up has to be doing something right.

8. Lincoln Chaffee
who might be the last of the old time New England GOPs. They were a little on the patrician side but always decent and occasionally more liberal than their Democratic counterparts.

I voted for a couple of them before Reagan got in and handed that party over to religious lunatics and used it to rob the rest of us blind.

Have a damned close look at his VOTING RECORD!

It STINKS! Unless you are a republican, conservative, NeoCon, or Fascist.

Here's one rating system on the Senate - keep in mind that this is a REVERSE ORDER list. The Good guys are in RED at the Bottom.

17. BOB DOLE. Dipshit NBC anchor at the '04 convention: "Ted Kennedy..."
Edited on Sun May-25-08 10:37 AM by BlueIris
"...now in the 'winter of his life'...(more dipshit blathering about Kennedy being old)..."

Time passes; BlueIris's head explodes and then she seethes quite a bit.

Then they cut to Bob Dole and the first words out of his mouth are: "(To the person who said Senator Kennedy was in the winter of his life) I disagree, I think he's only in the early fall."

Plus, back in '96, Dole took on the shit job of trying to convince the RNC that they might want to stop attacking abortion rights.

"Bush is bombing bridges in Iraq and sending your grandchildren the bill."

He fears no Republican, even if his foreign policy stance differs from most of the Party just because Bush said that they must want the Iraq War.

but how anyone with an MD can say he doesn't "believe in" evolution just floors me.

I sure hope he isn't practicing...ever. I don't want a doctor who doesn't understand the scientific method touching me or anyone I care about.

21. Other - NO.
It's hard enough to find non-repugnant democrats.

I consider "centrist" republicans still to be right-wing extremists, so I don't want anything to do with the lot of them.

When you find a republican who favors single-payer health care and increasing the share of the income tax burden paid by the rich, then I may change my mind, but to my knowledge, those republicans do not exist.

33. They did it after they voted in the Rep primary. In our state you can't
change parties after the first of the year and then vote in the primary. We only had 27 or 29 Reps in our precinct vote this primary. The rest of the 155 in our precinct were Dems. I'm a precinct judge and work the polls every year.
