ANTHONY BOND

Lieutenant Colonel Charles Halt in a still from the video posted on YouTube

A VETERAN air force chief has spoken out for the first time about the night he saw an alleged UFO at a Suffolk airbase.

Lieutenant Colonel Charles Halt was deputy base commander at RAF Woodbridge in December 1980 when patrolmen from the United States Air Force (USAF) claimed they saw a small, triangular shaped craft moving backwards through the woods before taking off. The incident has been dubbed Britain's Roswell and was documented by the Ministry of Defence.

A report by Lt Col Halt detailing what he and his men saw in the early hours of Boxing Day 1980 is already part of the National Archives.

But a video posted on internet site YouTube shows Mr Halt going into more details about the alleged sighting when he spoke at the National Press Club in America.

The retired Lieutenant Colonel tells the conference: “I have no idea what we saw that night but I do know with great certainty that it was under intelligent control.”

6. Doubt it but
wouldn't it be great! These assholes that run this country are afraid, and always have been, of a "society", "species", "culture", et cetera that could be proven to be much wiser then them/we.

2. I used to be a hardened skeptic, even after having seen two
it took a rather extreme sighting to convince me that they do exist (whatever they are-but yes, the crafts are under intelligent control and they aren't us). The problem is that unless they land in a place like times Square or the White House lawn and make themselves known, even millions of sighting over many centuries won't mean a thing. And since they have apparently never done that there's no reason to believe that they ever will. Whatever or whoever they are they seem pretty benign, so there's not much reason to be overly concerned, imho. I'm much more worried about the freaks in the WH.

3. I've seen two. Once too far in the distance for it to be definitive. The second was up close

and personal. I was with 6 neighbors and there was no aircraft that we knew of that it possibly could have been. It was huge, the bottom surrounded by bright white lights, moved very slowly overhead and made just a low hum. This is the same craft that had been spotted in the Hudson Valley of New York for years.

As to being skeptical? Was it alien? I haven't a clue as to who created it.

7. The first two I saw with friends/ neighbors as well
I was very young when i saw the first one. I think in was during the summer of 1970. It was a long, thin silver craft that would zip in different directions and then sit dead still in the air. The whole neighborhood watched it. Three air force jets eventually came to confront it, but it just zipped one direction and then another before shooting strait up and disappearing. I was really scared by it all because I had never seen "grown ups" frightened like that before.

The second also happened in a very public place, but at night. It was a huge rectangular craft, gunmetal gray with three very bright lights on the front and three lighted panels on the back. My ex-fiance (in the air force at the time) and I rode around one side of it on a motorcycle as it hovered 50 feet or so above an empty parking lot. When a group of loud teenagers came running towards it it shot up and disappeared. Funny, but I refused to believe that either one was extraterrestrial or extra dimensional-I thought that there MUST be an earthly explanation for each.

The one that convinced me involved three blueish oval crafts flying in formation high overhead at night. They tapped me on the top of the head before I looked up to see them. They made various patterns in the sky before flying all too quickly over the horizon. I suspect that no one will believe me (about any of these) but they made it impossible for me not to believe that they are here and they are not us. I can't go into any more detail than that without sounding completely nuts. I do wish that I'd never seen any of them because it was always easier not believing in them, but hell, I also wish that I didn't believe in voter fraud!

FWIW I have no doubt that you saw exactly what you described. I know a couple from PA that described seeing something similar once.

5. Breaks silence? He's been talking
about this for over a decade now. It's REALLY old news. Not that it's not worth bringing up again, since it's probably the best UFO case out there. Definitely NOT fuzzy lights in the sky seen by a drunk farmer.
