Gas prices today
I noticed gas was done to $4.079 today after being $4.099 for Memorial weekend, so I stopped and bought $20. Went to the book store to look for a book, and on the way home drove past the same station again and it was $4.119.

Incredible.

1. The station here stopped putting up the number in front of the decimal point.

So when I drove by, it said [].159. And I thought, could gas have dropped 60 cents today? I then came to my senses and realized that [] was supposed to be a 4.

How ugly.

6. This morning it dropped 2 cents, then went up 4 cents.
It was rather odd I thought. Makes me think that I need to check several times a day to get the best rate. 3 different prices in 1 day, very odd.

4. Didn't oil go down today?
It seems that when oil goes up, there's almost an instant price hike at the gas station. Does the same immediate response occur when oil goes down?

5. It seems that there is no longer any relationship between...
oil going up or down on the markets and the price at the pump. It goes up but rarely comes down again.

7. It went up while I was at work today.
4.05 when I walked to the bus stop, 4.09 on the way home.

I found the cheapest local gas on gasbuddy yesterday and filled up the tank (3.89!). We drive so little that we can stretch a tank for 6 weeks or so usually.

Phew. I'm so glad for the bus.
