McClellan: Bush said he doesn't know if he used cocaine.

McClellan has trouble believing this, but I don't.

With all the booze and marijuana, it was probably hard to keep track of everything else he tried.

3. that's classic addict-speak. "i don't know if i did/drank/smoked that." no personal responsibility.

6. Yeah, that white stuff.
Now I'm just guessing, but isn't there more than one kind of white stuff that can take that route?

I can see how it would be confusing.

5. Robin William's line... " If you REMEMBER the 60's.... you weren't there!"
So....if Bush DOESN'T remember (if he used cocaine)......he was probably right in the middle of the whole scene.

7. McClellan must really be strapped for money
I guess his last book didn't do too good.

I love the fact he is coming out with all this but it just shows you how fucking sick these people are. They will throw the people that they were loyal to under the bus to make a buck. Amazing.

10. but McLellan knows if Bush served community service for a drug arrest.
I'll bet you that Scotty knows all about that time in Houston, wasn't it? The records may be sealed. But I'll bet Scotty knows. I'll bet he knows, too, why Bush's drivers license was changed, at the same time James Bath's license was changed.

11. The Scotty excerpts do seem self-serving.
You're probably right -- he knows more than he's letting on.

13. Congress better button up the ability for w to grant any pardons - quick fast.
he'll probably have to grant a blanket pardon for everyone in his administration--all the way down the line -- to avoid legitimate prosecutions.

Something about separation of powers?

14. He's lying. They admitted he used cocaine and he didn't want to say
anything because he was worried about the example it would set for kids. Now he says he doesn't remember? Seems like they are looking down the road to the GE race with Obama and compiiing dirt. If they go after Obama for using cocaine (as a kid he admitted) Obama will just say "well Bush did". This is a set up. IMHO.

seriously, Bush's entire life is based on a lie. He's never done anything legitimately, except maybe be born. What a terrible way to live.

22. Consider the source.
I don't know why any sitting president would wax poetically about his cocaine habits with a press secretary, long after a general election. McCellan is a capitalist first, a right wing guy second. His entire book is going to be filled with exciting conclusions that he drew from non responses like above, and from not being at meetings. It's intriguing, considering the source, but it's just a big fuck you to Bush. I think Clark's book was and will be more relevant.

24. He was probably sniffing glue at the time.
Seriously though, how can anyone not remember simply whether they have tried something or not?

Remember, he is a politician so we must look at his words closely.

When he says he doesn't remember it may mean he was never really sure whether he was tooting coke or crank.
