Bill seen as opening to allow creationism Thursday, May 22, 2008By Bill Barrow
BATON ROUGE -- A three-hour debate notwithstanding, the House Education Committee raised no objections Wednesday to allowing Louisiana public school science teachers to use supplemental materials when discussing evolution, global warming and human cloning.

The article speaks for itself and why GAWD is trying to wash Louisiana away.

2. Its unfortunate that the legislature is wasting time on such a
silly issue. In the end, the "extra materials" will do no harm other than to cut in on the time that
should have been spent on valid science.

"Creationism" is not a science. It is simply a notion based
on subjective emotionality. There is no curriculum, or body of knowledge that can support it.
It will ultimately be relegated to the "dust bin" of history as a curious reminder of our ignorant
past.

4. I'm afraid that the "extra materials"
will replace the science. This is a foot in the door for creationists, and if the time spent on real science vs. "extra materials" is not specified, wingnut teachers will make the decisions on how much of each is appropriate.

6. Creationism is too weak to hold up for very long. But, in the meantime
,students will be deprived of their science education.
