A new Rush sponsor to boycott: Jos. A. Bank clothiers.
Announced on his show yesterday. I have bought clothing there before; they are now out of the picture. Any who want to let the company know their feelings about their sponsorship decision can contact them at service@jos-a-bank.com. The graphic says it all:

1. They also are a heavy advertiser on "Countdown" with Keith Olbermann.
We don't have to like it, but the fact that KO gets sponsors keeps a tiny bit of objective journalism on the air...

2. On the other hand, they also sponsor local programs I appreciate
So pick your poison, but I'll continue to enjoy the commercials I do hear ... and they use a terrific voice.

3. Good luck, Free-lance Censor
Certainly you have no chance of succeeding, but I choose not to join a movement to censor disagreeable political opinions.

6. Call it consumer choice.
I'm not trying to censor anybody. But I can choose where to buy my products. Rush enablers don't make the list. Plenty of other more agreeable options.

8. You are encouraging others to follow your example, it seems like
But ok, if you are just saying it for yourself, than you aren't technically trying to get Rush knocked off the air.

9. What about Keith Enablers? I mean they do sponsor KO as well....
Just saying that as a business person you have an advert budget and you don't care who or what they are saying, as long as they are hitting your demo

There are a few businesses out there that actually place adds based on political views... and they tend to be far more local

10. Rush is not political so much as he is a fomentor of hate and divisiveness. So
while I see your point, I think for Rush I would make an exception.

11. The measure of one's support for freedom of speech is not speech one approves of
It is speech one hates.

13. I agree he should have the right to speak, but protest in the form of boycott sends a message
Edited on Tue Jun-03-08 02:29 PM by ThruTheLookingGlass
since I'm not likely to be given a radio show on which to voice my opposition.

4. thanks...I have a discount card with them and will stop on way
home from work to tell them that I won't buy there til they quit.

that should do it.

they also are one of those phony sales places, where just about everything is on 'sale' all the time

5. As much as I personally would love to see Father Couhglin II off the air
It is about freedom of speech.

Yes, even when he does things like Op Chaos

Where he crossed the line, and I wrote the FCC, was on his call to riots in November

7. I've been boycotting sponsors of the hideous asshole for decades...
Starting in 1984 when he was broadcasting out of Sacramento, California on KFBK. The first product to land on my list was Snapple®. I haven't listened to that show since 1996 so my list is a little outdated but I still boycott Snapple®.
